FREE VIRTUAL LECTURE—Join The Archaeological Conservancy May 14 at 5 p.m. MDT (4 p.m. MST for those of you in Arizona) for our next virtual lecture, “Mapping Coronado’s Expedition: How Archaeology Reveals the Route,” presented by archaeologist Dr. Deni Seymour. Drawing on multiple lines of independent evidence, Seymour will discuss how she identified 18 new Coronado expedition sites in southeastern Arizona—and how archaeologists distinguish expedition encampments, townsites, Spanish-period sites, and possible routes.
