Walker County Economic Development Corporation

09/18/2026

Yesterday, at our 2026 Walker County Economic Outlook Conference & Business Expo, we debuted a video that represents so much more than economic development...it represents Walker County.

When we began envisioning this project, we wanted to tell our story in a way that felt authentic to who we are. We wanted to showcase the people, places, businesses, education, workforce, and opportunities that make Walker County special while staying true to the character of the community we are proud to call home.

Economic development is about growth, but it’s also about making sure that growth honors what is already here. It’s about building on our strengths, creating opportunities for the next generation, supporting the businesses and industries that call Walker County home, and sharing with others why this is a place worth investing in.

This video is a glimpse into that vision, and into the Walker County we know and love. After debuting it at our conference, we are so excited to finally share it with the world. We hope you enjoy and please share!

Rooted in Texas. Built for Opportunity.

As an economic development organization, we know that a strong community is a prepared and resilient community. Wildfire preparedness is a year-round responsibility, and taking simple steps to reduce fire risk helps protect our residents, businesses, employees, and the investments that make our community thrive.

We encourage everyone to stay informed, follow local burn regulations, and do their part to reduce wildfire risk. Together, we can help keep our community safe, resilient, and ready for the future.

Texas has no designated "Wildfire Season" which means we must remain vigilant year-round. Follow local burn regulations and reduce fire danger where possible.

Location matters when it comes to business growth. 📍

Direct access to I-45 connects Walker County to two of Texas’ largest markets, helping employers move people, products and materials efficiently while expanding access to customers, suppliers and workforce.

Strategic location ➡️ Strong connections ➡️ More opportunity

Economic development is about much more than recruiting companies. It's supporting the businesses already here, developing a strong workforce, preparing sites and infrastructure, attracting new investment and creating opportunities for long-term growth.

At WCEDC, we're working to build an environment where businesses can invest, grow and create opportunities right here in Walker County!
