IBT Local 2118 is aware that Spirit Airlines has ended operations.

We stand in solidarity with affected crewmembers and will do everything within our ability to help ensure Spirit pilots and flight attendants can get home safely, including facilitating jumpseat and cabin access where operationally feasible.

On March 3, APA 2118 President Ryan Joseph and Vice President Hansel Duran attended The Coalition of Airline Pilots Associations (CAPA) Board of Directors meeting as invited guests.

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford spoke with pilot leaders from across the aviation industry about safety initiatives, regulatory priorities, and the issues affecting airline pilots nationwide.

CAPA plays a key role in uniting pilot organizations to strengthen our collective voice in Washington, D.C.

We appreciate the opportunity to engage with CAPA and look forward to continuing the conversation about how Allegiant pilots can contribute to this important industry-wide collaboration.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — a champion for justice, dignity, and the rights of working people.

Dr. King, an honorary Teamster, gave his life while standing in solidarity with striking sanitation workers in Memphis in 1968. His fight for economic justice, equality, and respect for all workers continues to guide the labor movement today.

The Allegiant Pilots Association, Teamsters Local 2118, remains committed to those same principles — unity, fairness, and standing together to ensure every worker is treated with dignity and respect.

The Teamsters are proud to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of fighting for workers regardless of race, religion, or creed. Dr. King, an honorary Teamster, gave his life while supporting striking sanitation union members in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1968. Then and now, the Teamsters continue this crusade of fighting for the dignity and respect of all working people, including those in the waste, recycling, and sanitation industry.

Through the efforts of the Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission, our union remains committed to honoring Dr. King’s legacy and educating members on his life and work. The Teamsters will continue to lead the fight for economic justice for workers and their families across North America.
