aka Las Vegas Fiber Arts Guild is a non-profit group whose purpose is to preserve and promote spinning, weaving, and other fiber arts.

First, the library will be too full tomorrow so NO spinning circle on May 6. Second our May meeting is this Saturday, May 9. This is our annual meeting. Come and vote in next year's board. Bring a potluck dish to share. There should be a lot of show and tell inkle weaving from Annie MacHale's worshop. It was a wonderful 3 days.

Card weaving on Saturday went well. Hermi enabled some new weavers to give it a try.

Saturday, April 11 is our next meeting. Hermi will guide us through card weaving techniques. (There will only be 6 cards and each will have 4 holes.) Bring your own loom or use a back-strap version, some kits will be available.
There will also be a lot of items in our silent auction and raffle so bring your wallets. These include 2 spinning wheel (one is a Louet with many bobbins) , 2 drum carders, combs, cards, a Kromsky-style lazy kate, a McMorran balance, much fiber and many books. Some of the equipment needs a little work. Great deals will be available.

Our next Guild meeting is Saturday, February 14 from 9:am to noon at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Church on Sahara. Our program will be locker hooking with roving. Vicki is our resident expert. Try your hand at this useful technique. We have lots of canvas and roving. If you have your own needle/hook please bring it but there will be several there to buy or borrow.

Good meeting yesterday. We had a wonderful zoom talk on supported spindle spinning from Michelle King. She showed us spindles from The Spanish Peacock. Worth a look.
There was a lot to see in our show and tell segment and a good raffle.

Our January meeting is on Saturday at 9:00 AM. In addition to our regular activities we will have a zoom presentation on supported spindle spinning. (Locker hook mini workshop will be in February.) See our website for more details.

We had a good festive gathering yesterday. Our next meeting is January 10 with a locker hooking mini workshop. Each Wednesday morning we continue gathering at Sahara Library. Have a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year.

A chilly, rainy day at Cactus Joe's last Sunday. We had a good time and met lots of interesting people.

Our monthly meeting is this Saturday, November 8th from 9am to noon. We have a NEW MEETING PLACE, the Good Samaritan Lutheran Church on Sahara and Cimarron. See the newsletter for details. We will hold our skein exchange at this meeting in addition to a zoom presentation, show and tell and a raffle. If you want to snack please bring something to share.
