Honored to collaborate with AIA Las Vegas for a meaningful tour of the West Las Vegas Library during Black History Month.

This project represents more than a new civic space. It reflects investment in a historic community and highlights the importance of culturally responsive, community-centered design. Spaces like this help tell stories and expand access to a community in need of a 21st century library.

Thank you to KME Architects, CORE Construction, and The Library District Las Vegas–Clark County for sharing the vision behind this impactful project. We look forward to continuing partnerships that uplift and serve our communities.

One of Las Vegas’s most iconic landmarks was designed by a pioneering Black architect.

The La Co**ha Motel lobby (1961), now part of The Neon Museum, was designed by Paul Revere Williams — the first Black member of the American Institute of Architects.

As Black History Month comes to a close, we honor his legacy and the lasting impact Black architects continue to make on our built environment.

Reading Builds Dreams is more than a program for our chapter — it’s who we are.

This Black History Month, reading with students at Helen Toland International STEAM Academy reminded us how powerful representation and presence can be. Sharing stories and time with these young minds shows them that their dreams matter and that they belong in every future they imagine.

This moment reflects our commitment to uplifting the next generation and honoring Black history through action, connection, and community. 📚✨

Did you know one of Las Vegas’s most iconic architectural landmarks was designed by a pioneering Black architect?

The La Co**ha Motel lobby (1961)—now the Neon Museum Visitor Center—was designed by Paul Revere Williams, one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. As the first Black member of the AIA, Williams shaped the American landscape while breaking racial barriers in a profession that often excluded him.

In Nevada, his futuristic shell-shaped design became a symbol of Las Vegas innovation and remains a celebrated piece of architectural history today.

This Black History Month, we honor Paul R. Williams and the lasting impact Black architects have made—and continue to make—on our built environment.
