Blind Center of Nevada Helping people who are blind and visually impaired find a path to greatness. Greatness isn’t limited to those with sight.

Finding Hope: Life doesn’t stop at blindness, but for many, the hopelessness runs deep. We uplift people by providing emotional rescue, a caring shelter, a welcoming community, and counseling to help members see beyond their visual impairment. Through the Blind Center of Nevada, people find a loving, social refuge—a place that understands and truly cares.

‍Learning Independence: Within our encouraging family environment, we help members see beyond their visual limits and learn to live an independent life. Our skills training, educational resources, and ongoing assistance all work together to ignite a can-do-spirit that defies boundaries and fuels personal growth.

‍Pursuing Greatness: Best of all, our center helps members visualize their true potential and work toward achieving great things. Through a wide range of programs—including music, art, fitness, education, and vocational mentorship—we help people reach goals they can be proud of. We help members achieve great things while living lives that are unbound—and unlimited.

We were honored to welcome CARE Coalition to the Blind Center of Nevada for its annual “Embracing Life as Women” vendor fair and conference! 🌟

The event brought women and local organizations together for a day of connection, conversation and community. We’re grateful to be a space where organizations like CARE Coalition can gather, connect and celebrate their communities. 💙

A new way to move around Las Vegas has arrived! 🚙

Last month, Blind Center of Nevada member Havander and member of our staff had the opportunity to experience a Waymo demo ride. Now, Waymo is officially welcoming its first public riders in Las Vegas with fully autonomous trips.

For people who are blind or visually impaired, accessible transportation options can create greater independence, choice and connection. We’re excited about the potential for autonomous ride-hailing to expand mobility options throughout our community.

We’re also grateful for Waymo’s continued support of the Blind Center of Nevada. Congratulations, Waymo! We’re excited to officially welcome you to Las Vegas. 💙

From an idea to a place to call home. 💙

In September 2024, we broke ground on Visions Park with a vision for something truly special: a safe, affordable and accessible housing community designed for individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

Last week, that vision became a reality as we celebrated the grand opening of this 99-unit community and welcomed residents home.

We’re incredibly grateful to the partners, donors, supporters and everyone who helped bring Visions Park to life, including Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, Clark County, Nevada, City of Las Vegas Government, City of North Las Vegas, Nevada - Municipal Government, City of Henderson Government, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, State of Nevada Housing Division and State of Nevada.

Together, we’re creating a more accessible and inclusive future in Nevada, where people who are blind and visually impaired can live independently and call a place of their own home. 🏡

Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone possible.
