The Las Vegas Walk for ALS & 5K has become so much more than an event, it's a day of hope, remembrance, strength, and community. It's a chance to honor those we've lost, celebrate those who continue to fight, support the families walking this difficult journey, and raise critical funds that stay right here in Nevada to provide care and services for people living with ALS.

Whether you've walked with us every year or this will be your first time, we invite you to be part of something truly meaningful. Bring your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors, and help us take every step with purpose.

Another important step forward for the ALS community: The Senate HELP Committee has approved the ACT for ALS Reauthorization Act.

This bipartisan progress reflects the voices of people living with ALS, families, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates across the country who continue urging Congress to act.

ACT for ALS is helping advance research, support expanded access to investigational therapies, and strengthen the infrastructure needed to move promising treatments forward.

Now Congress needs to finish the job before the current law expires this September.

💙 Welcome Our Amazing Event Coordinator, Jeannine Wells! 💙

If you've been to one of our recent events, you've probably already seen Jeannine in action! Whether she's greeting participants with a smile, or lending a helping hand, she does it all with kindness, enthusiasm, and heart!

Over the past couple of months, Jeannine has quickly become an important part of the ALS of Nevada family, and we couldn't be happier to have her on our team! Her passion for serving others and creating meaningful experiences shines through in everything she does.

We're excited for all that's ahead and grateful that Jeannine has chosen to be part of our mission to support Nevada families living with ALS.

💙 If you see her at our next event, be sure to say hello and give her a warm welcome!

'Rooted in the energy of Las Vegas for over 21 years, I’ve built my career around connection, creativity, and creating a network. As an advertising account executive with a strong foundation in networking and social events, I now specialize in bringing people together, for ALS of Nevada!

My passion extends far beyond business. I’m deeply connected to my community and believe the best work happens when relationships come first. From local events to meaningful collaborations, I take pride in contributing to the heartbeat of the city I call home.

Outside of work, I’ve been married for 24 years, mom of 3 boys, a proud grandparent of two, a horse lover, and a road trip enthusiast who finds inspiration on the open road. I’m equal parts SoCal beach girl and Oregon free spirit Ducks fan, which makes Las Vegas the perfect balance of energy and soul. You’ll often find me planning the next adventure that brings people, and stories, together.'

Today, on Lou Gehrig Day, we honor the legacy of the baseball legend whose name became forever linked with ALS and recognize the millions of people who have been affected by the disease since his famous farewell speech more than 80 years ago.

While significant progress has been made in ALS research, treatment development, and care, people living with ALS and their families continue to face enormous challenges. That is why ALS United and advocates across the country continue working to advance policies that support research, improve access to care, strengthen federal programs, and accelerate the search for effective treatments.

Lou Gehrig’s legacy reminds us that awareness alone is not enough. Progress requires action.

Today, we invite you to honor Lou Gehrig’s legacy by contacting your members of Congress through ALS United’s advocacy action alerts page and helping ensure the voices of people living with ALS, caregivers, families, clinicians, researchers, and advocates continue to be heard.
