We are so grateful to every participant, volunteer, family, and friend who helped make the day so special. Awesome Ain’t Easy. But Brooke Eby made everything awesome.

Brooke had an extraordinary ability to find humor in even the toughest moments. She reminded us that joy and sadness can coexist, even in the face of a disease as devastating as ALS.

Through her wit, honesty, impeccable style, and relentless advocacy, Brooke made the ALS community better than she found it. She used her voice and her platform to raise awareness, bring people together, and raise an incredible amount of money for causes she cared deeply about, including Team Gleason. She made people pay attention, made them care, and inspired them to act, all while making us laugh and probably wearing a better outfit than everyone else in the room.

We are heartbroken to lose such a bright light and pillar of this community, and endlessly grateful for everything she gave to so many. Brooke was truly one of a kind, and the impact she made will live on in the people, organizations, and causes she championed.

In the words of her infamous bracelet: “F*ck ALS.” Rest easy, Brooke. You made it awesome.
