Hosting Girls Rock Wings (GRoW) on the campus of TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY, home of the Tuskegee Airmen, was inspiring and a reminder of those who came before us!

We still get goosebumps every time we think about it!

Knowing that we were able to continue that legacy by introducing young girls of color to aviation in a place built on resilience and excellence made it all even more special.

You could see the spark in the girls’ eyes as they learned and imagined what might be possible for themselves one day.

This was the first time Sisters of the Skies partnered with a university for a GRoW event, and honestly, it felt like the beginning of something bigger.

Thank you to our sponsor, United, and our partner, Tuskegee University. You helped us create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Our next recognizes Bria Bailey '19! Bria recently passed her first solo flight test, putting her one step closer toward her dream of becoming a professional pilot! Just after Bria earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Morgan State University in 2023, she was awarded a $15,000 scholarship to attend flight school by Sisters of the Skies, an organization of Black female pilots who are committed to supporting future Black aviators through mentoring, professional development, outreach, and scholarships. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott called Bria to congratulate her on this honor, and then featured her on his social media channels! Bria's story was featured in Morgan Magazine, and she was also recently featured on Maryland State Delegate Sean Stinnett's social media channels on April 10. Bria is a graduate of Mercy's PLTW - Project Lead The Way Biomedical Sciences Program. Safe skies, Bria!
