🌸We are in Washington, D.C this week for our National Equality In Action Convention.

We kicked off yesterday with Lobby Day, meetings with Congress and Senators on Capitol Hill. We encouraged our elected officials to continue to stand with us in solidarity. It was also important for us to also thank them for their representation and standing on the good side of democracy for everyone.

Meeting directly with Nevada Lawmakers and sharing stories that inspire and change mindsets is how this fight will get better. We are doing the work not just in Nevada but everywhere.

📣Volunteer Opportunity!
We will be partnering with The Just One Project again
for a pop-up food distribution event at Cimarron Memorial High School on Saturday, April 18th from 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM.

Volunteers will help support the community by: Unloading pallets of food
• Distributing food to drive-thru and walk-up clients
• Assisting with digital client check-in

This is a great opportunity for us to show up for our
community while working alongside an incredible local
organization.

📢March 31st! Join the Human Rights Campaign Las Vegas Steering Committee for a special Transgender Day of Visibility screening of State of Firsts. This powerful documentary follows Congresswoman Sarah McBride and her historic journey as the first openly transgender member of Congress, highlighting the challenges, resilience, and leadership shaping the fight for equality today.

The film will be shown at The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada , a cornerstone of the LGBTQ+ community in Las Vegas that provides programs, resources, and a safe space for connection, advocacy, and support.

This event is an opportunity to come together, celebrate transgender visibility, and engage in meaningful conversation about representation, equality, and the future of our community.

Reading stories opens a window into the lives of people in our communities while also reflecting the lived experiences of many readers.

The current climate can make it difficult to instill positive change and provide the necessary support for our LGBTQ+ youth. Welcoming Schools encourages communities to focus on and uplift the fact that there are many supportive organizations, places of worship, schools, and people who continue to show up for LGBTQ+ youth.
