Greetings AIGA Las Vegas if you are receiving an email from DanMcElhattan please check the actual email. It appears some people are pretending to be Dan and request support for funding for a project or newsletter.

A. It’s false
B. Do not respond to that request it’s not from Dan,
C. We always use a secure third party platform
For the safety and security of our donors.

These hackers used our board page public emails and crafted a story based on lies to form a manipulation sting on a false project that doesn’t
Exist.

If you ever receive an email or text ( we hope never a text!) from AIGA Las Vegas requesting funding other that our normal ask seasonally please do not respond to them and please report to the FBI.

On Wednesday our local chapter of AIGA Las Vegas has a Zooming Session with Seattle and tokyo Based Typographer, designer, Artist Tim Girvin. Known for his Branding for Kettle Chips Logo, the Movie Matrix Logo, worked wih JJ Abrams for Star Trek logo, Tom Cruise for Days Of Thunder, Mission impossible. He is traditional old school with a true lost art of Typography / Calligraphy Marker on paper and shared about his history of traveling around the world and learning from the creators of fonts themselves. In this day and age of AI his NON AI approach is refreshing. [email protected] We had a small lecture the other night and over 50% wanted to take his class! I hope you consider him!
