Greetings VIDA Friends and Family. We are exited to announce a new program in Ghana. Sickle Cell Disease is a tragic blood disorder that is very difficult to treat in Ghana. This new program supports patients that have no opportunity for treatment where they live. It involves the transport of patients to Europe where they can be treated, and then support with reintegration into their communities after their return to Ghana. As many of you know, VIDA works extensively in West Africa where the tragic Ebola outbreak is getting worse. We are hard at work with our Liberian partners to provide support to Ebola patients and their families, provide personal protection equipment, and conduct door to door hygiene education. We want to thank our partners at DIVOG. They helped make our recent trip to Ghana extremely successful. Solarize Ghana continues as we have received a commitment from the Ghanaian government to provide us with the SolBus and PV equipment needed to install solar at 6 schools and 4 medical clinics in Ghana!
