ADL strongly condemns the hateful rhetoric and antisemitic slurs targeting Rep. Alma Hernandez.

The recent vandalism of a campaign sign with the words "Zionist B*tch" was a particularly vile, hateful attack. This kind of dehumanizing language is meant to intimidate and silence a Jewish candidate simply for her identity and her beliefs. It is antisemitism, plain and simple.

We call on all leaders in Arizona and across the country to speak out clearly and unequivocally: Rhetoric demonizing Jews and Zionists is dangerous, it is wrong, and it has no place in America.

ADL Desert Region is grateful to Governor Hobbs for signing into law HB4117, which is an important step forward for Arizonans to access their houses of worship without fear of obstruction and interference.

ADL is proud to advocate for vital protections for synagogues, churches, mosques, and all houses of worship. Faith communities deserve to pray in peace and worship safely.

We appreciate the leadership of bill sponsors Rep. Alma Hernandez, Rep. Martinez, and Senator Kavanagh and to the legislature for its bipartisan support.
