The Compassion Initiative LV

The Compassion Initiative LV The Compassion Initiative LV...on a mission to distribute with dignity to those in need. Our page posts resources for services, pantries and jobs.

The Compassion Initiative LV is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit servicing the roofless and less fortunate communities of the Las Vegas Valley. Our team of unpaid volunteers works diligently to distribute with dignity and offer a compassionate ear for those struggling with homelessness and addiction. We provide basic necessities such as clothing, toiletries and home goods. We offer a Friday Food S

hare to residents in the Historic Westside. Every Monday we join other members of the G Street LV Hope Coalition and set up tables of seasonal apparel, rescue food and hygiene products. We have established a monthly distribution at the Kensington Suites off W Bonanza/Rancho. Please consider a $10 monthly donation. Imagine the possibilities if each page follower could contribute.

I AM APPALLED THAT WE STRUGGLE FOR THEIR GLUTTONY!!

Yes, a government watchdog report from Open the Books revealed that the Pentagon under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth spent $6.9 million on lobster tails in September 2025. [1]

Details of the Spending Spree
• The Context: The purchase was part of a record $93.4 billion end-of-fiscal-year "use-it-or-lose-it" spending rush. [1]

• Other Food Items: Alongside the lobster tails, the Department of Defense spent $15.1 million on ribeye steaks, $2 million on Alaskan king crab, and $1 million on salmon. [1]

• Luxury Goods: The same end-of-year budget exhaustion included funds for high-end furniture, ice cream machines, doughnuts, and musical instruments. [1, 2]

Our organization provides pantry boxes 📦 for 11 households, feeds our homeless community in Lorenzi Park every Friday and offers 3 givebacks in underserved communities each month. We have served the Historic Westside of Las Vegas for 10 years.

We would like to introduce you to what it is we do. At our next pop-up market, TCILV will be setting up a food and thrift market swap, just as we would at complexes. Anyone is welcome to come and browse our tables of dry pantry, beauty products, diapers, clothing, household items, books, toys and more. Some will be gently used and much will be brand new. Let’s trade! We are in desperate need of men’s jeans and sneakers, rolling luggage bags and backpacks. Nothing to trade? Pay what you can afford…Jon Bon Jovi style. His restaurant is on my bucket list! Our messages are much the same. https://jbjsoulkitchen.org/

We are looking for new vendors to join our team!
