Patriotic Pinups Las Vegas is the soulful idea of Sue Altenburg of Altenburg Studio. In 2010 while volunteering for a US Vets Event, Sue couldn't help but notice the very sad lifestyle situations some of our homeless veterans were in. Having served our country, many come back with numerous physical, mental, and emotional conditions that make it harder for them to continue living happy lives as Civ
ilians. Wanting to contribute, she decided to use her master photography skills to host a pin-up themed annual fundraiser benefiting the US Vets Organization. Having worked with hair and makeup company Amelia C & Co and working alongside Portraits by Catherine for several years, Sue teamed up with them for the first annual Patriotic Pinups in 2011. The concept was for a donation to the homeless vets organization, soon-to-be starlets would get their hair and makeup done in pin-up fashion, have their choice of many pin-up wardrobe options, and be able to choose one of the set "themes" and have their photo taken. The end result is an 12x18 pinup poster of themselves! It's one weekend only, and 100% of the proceeds are donated to the US Vets-Las Vegas organization.
