The JET Foundation mourns the passing of our dear friend and community partner, Miss Shirley Raines, Founder and CEO of Beauty 2 The Streetz.

Miss Shirley was a pillar in the community and a fierce advocate for our unhoused neighbors. Her work was rooted in dignity, compassion, and genuine love for people. Through her leadership, she reminded us all that service is about humanity first — meeting people where they are and honoring who they are.

Shirley was more than a partner to our organization — she was a friend. Someone we respected deeply and stood alongside in the shared mission of uplifting our community. Her impact will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the example she set for all of us doing this work.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and the entire Beauty 2 The Streetz family. We honor her legacy and commit to carrying forward the values she lived every day.

Rest in power, Miss Shirley. You will always be remembered. 🤍

Our community deserves transparency.

We want to share that JET Foundation has not had administrative access to this Facebook account since January 2024. While we have been actively working through the proper channels to resolve this, it limited our ability to share updates and engage publicly through this page.

Although we haven’t been able to communicate consistently here, our work has never stopped. Throughout this time, JET Foundation has continued showing up for our clients, families, and neighbors across Southern Nevada — providing food access, resource navigation, advocacy, and critical support when it mattered most.
Now, as we move forward, we are more excited than ever. With renewed access, our programs and resources are recharged, and we are ready to reconnect with our collective community, our supporters, our partners — and to reach even more individuals and families in need.

🌈✨ Mission Accomplished! ✨🌈

Today, I proudly completed the 2025 Silver State Equality Cohort of the LGBTQ Leadership Academy — an elite leadership program that received hundreds of applications, with only 15 changemakers selected statewide. 🙌

This incredible program was designed to immerse participants in Nevada’s political landscape, providing hands-on insight into what it takes to serve on boards, commissions, and appointments that shape real policy and progress.

Throughout the experience, I had the opportunity to connect with seven Nevada State Senators and other key decision-makers — learning directly from those who are driving impact across our state.

This journey has deepened my commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and representation, and I’m more inspired than ever to lead with purpose, passion, and pride. 🏳️‍🌈💪

Here’s to breaking barriers, building community, and ensuring that every voice has a seat at the table. Equality isn’t just a goal — it’s a movement.
