Help Bud on his journey

Help Bud on his journey Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue is an all-volunteer group dedicated to the rescue of Beagles. Bud only recently came into our rescue.

Instantly his foster mommy noticed how severely deformed his foot was. The veterinarians stated that yes, his leg was deformed with a Vulgas leg deformity. The ortho vet will be able to correct this for him. They speculated that Bud lives in pain every day. If he does not get the surgery he needs, his pain will only get worse and he will certainly have arthritis and problems with the leg. Bud is a

ctually a very happy and loving Beagle/Basset mix who is about 4 years old. He gets along pretty well and loves to play and cuddle. Currently he has been put on all kinds of glucosamine and natural supplements to help him in the interim until the funds are raised for him to get the surgery that will better his quality of life. Won't you Help Bud on his journey?

On May 12, 2013, Kayla was diagnosed with what her veterinarians believe to be Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia ("IMHA"). Without blood transfusions to keep her red blood cell volume high enough to allow for the delivery of oxygen to her organs, Kayla will likely not survive. Unfortunately, blood...

I saw my lovebug Bud on Saturday. He looks so good and is doing so well. What a happy dog. They are so thrilled and love him, I couldn't have asked for a better home for him.
He also saw the surgeon today for a final follow up and the surgeon said he is looking realy good and he is happy with the end result.

Well it happened... today, August 20th, I walked into a house with a family I am going to keep.
It was hard to see my foster mommy leave (probably more for her than me) but I already started to get my new sister to play with me. My new parents, went and got a doggy door and a new trash can. They cannot believe how good my nose is! I told them, well I am half beagle you know. My foster mommy left me homemade cookies; bully stick and a ducks foot as well as a new toy and told me I have to share with my new sister. I guess I can do that, if she even wants them. I think her nose is not as good as mine. I also have to show her how to use the dog door, she is a little afraid of it, but me, I just run right through it like lightning. As soon as my foster mommy showed me where it was, I bolted right out.
My backyard is 6,000 square feet so I have lots of room to run around and sun myself in. Although I have one more week to wait until they will let me fly like the wind (unsupervised).
I have to show my new parents the ropes, they have never been to a dog park. But don't worry, I will show them how fun it is. I hope I get to see all my old friends at the park in the future.
Thank you to everyone who showed me love and support..
Wish me luck, I'm on my way... The journey has ended.

well it has been a month and a half since my final surgery. I am not entirely off medical restriction. 2 more weeks to go and I will be allowed to run. and guess what? it looks like I might be running to my fur-ever home! My foster mommy says she will be sad to see me go because I am such a love bug, but she will be happy for me to be in a home with a sister canine and two parents to love me. details to follow of when this will all happen.
I thank everyone who has followed me on my journey and been there to see me through my surgeries.

had my two week check today... I got my stitches and staples out and Dr. Costa said the cone can come off... YiPpEe!!

But then she told my foster mommy, that yes, he has been doing too much.... I have just a little fluid on one of my elbows...

The nerve of my foster mommy, I hear her tell Dr. Costa I cry like a baby when she leaves me in the corral too long... how embarassing.

I am doing good. The surgeon is happy with how things went. I had to stay at the hospital to recover in a quiet calm environment.
