Injured Police Officers Fund A 501(c-3) organization dedicated to helping law enforment officers and their families in the event of a line of duty injury or death.

Assisting the men and women of the following agencies:

With deep respect and enduring gratitude, we honor the memory of LVMPD Detective Justin Michael Terry. End of watch: June 10, 2022.

Detective Terry joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2001 after earning a degree in Criminal Justice. He served in the Patrol Division and S*x Offender Apprehension Program and was a sworn Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Service. In his last year on the job, he continued his work protecting children in the Homicide S*x Crimes Bureau, S*xual Assault and Abuse Section.

On June 10, 2022, Detective Terry was killed when a steel height-restriction beam – installed to prevent over-height vehicles from entering a construction zone – was struck and fell onto his department vehicle as he drove beneath it on the U.S. 95, near Route 215.

Over the course of his 21-year career with LVMPD, Detective Terry honored fallen officers by participating in the annual Cops on Top memorial hike. He also started the enduro program at Southeast Area Command, making it possible for officers to ride dual-sport motorcycles into hard-to-reach locations to serve unhoused individuals. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Detective Terry was 45 years old. Today, we honor him for his leadership, courage and dedication to service. His legacy lives on in the programs he founded that changed our community for the better and the justice his work helped find for victims of violence.

Today we remember and honor the life of LVMPD Police Officer Alyn Ronnie Beck. End of Watch: June 8, 2014.

Officer Beck joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2001 and dedicated his career to serving the community and training fellow officers. He served in the Patrol Division, became a Field Training Officer, and later an Academy Training Instructor, where he was respected for his passion and commitment to helping prepare others for the profession. In 2014, he returned to the Patrol Division at Northeast Area Command while advancing through the promotional process to become a sergeant.

On June 8, 2014, Officer Beck and his partner, Officer Igor Soldo, were ambushed and fatally wounded by two armed suspects while serving the Las Vegas community.

Officer Beck was 41 years old. We reflect on the lasting impact he made through his service, leadership and dedication to others. His influence continues to be felt by those he mentored, those he served alongside and the community he helped protect.

We remember and honor the life of LVMPD Police Officer Igor Soldo. End of Watch: June 8, 2014.

Officer Soldo joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2006 and served in both the Patrol Division and the Problem-Solving Unit. A native of Bosnia, he came to the United States with his family in search of a better life and went on to dedicate himself to serving and protecting others. He also served as a Fi****ms Instructor, helping prepare future officers for their careers.

On June 8, 2014, Officer Soldo and his partner, Officer Alyn Beck, were ambushed by two armed suspects while serving the Las Vegas community. Both officers made the ultimate sacrifice.

Officer Soldo was 31 years old. Today, we remember the commitment he made to protecting others and serving his community. His legacy continues to live on in the Las Vegas community he so proudly served and among all those whose lives were touched by his dedication.

Today we pay tribute to LVMPD Police Officer Ernest James May. End of watch: June 8, 1933.

Officer May was the first Las Vegas police officer to give his life in the line of duty. He responded to a call involving a drunken man firing shots at the Clark Auto Court on South 5th Street. As the first officer to arrive on scene, Officer May pulled into the auto court and was fatally shot as he exited his patrol vehicle.

Officer May was 38 years old. Though more than nine decades have passed, we continue to honor his sacrifice and remember the legacy he left behind. His service to the Las Vegas community will never be forgotten.

Last night, we gathered for the Southern Nevada Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony. Together, we honored the lives and legacies of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our community.

We continue to keep the family of NLVPD Officer Jason Roscow in our hearts and thoughts. We are especially moved by the strength and bravery shown by Officer Roscow’s son, Andrew, and his mother, a powerful reminder of why we must never forget the families who carry these legacies forward.

As we reflect on the evening, we remain forever grateful for the lives these heroes lived, the service they gave and the lasting impact they left on our community.

This Thursday, May 21, from 6:30–8:00 p.m., we will come together at the Southern Nevada Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at Police Memorial Park, located at 3250 Metro Academy Way.

This year’s ceremony is held in honor of NLVPD Officer Jason Roscow, whose legacy will be held close as we remember all Southern Nevada officers who gave their lives in the line of duty for our community.

We invite everyone to join us this evening of remembrance, stand in solidarity with the families left behind and reflect on the courage and commitment of our law enforcement community. 💙

Today we pay tribute to Deputy Sheriff Jack David London of LVMPD. End of Watch: May 17, 1943.

Deputy London and his partner Deputy Lynn McKnight were stopped along Boulder Highway near the community of Whitney when they encountered a hitchhiking soldier. While assisting the soldier with a ride, a suspect vehicle approached at a high rate of speed and struck both deputies. Deputy McKnight sustained an injury to his leg and Deputy London was thrown onto his patrol vehicle after being struck and died at the scene. The driver and passenger were apprehended and arrested in connection with his death.

Deputy London was 46 years old. We honor his service, sacrifice and commitment to his community, even in his final moments.

Today we honor Peace Officers Memorial Day, a day dedicated to the federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have lost their lives or been permanently disabled in the line of duty.

Their service and courage reflect an extraordinary sacrifice that continues to impact our families and communities.

At IPOF, we stand with the families and agencies in Southern Nevada who carry that impact every day. Our mission is rooted in supporting the fallen, the injured and the families left behind.
