Sons of God
Today as I was reading in Matthew 5:9
the Beatitudes, one particular phrase struck me, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called 'sons of God'". This intrigued me because of the phrase 'sons of God.' I recalled the Scripture in Romans 8:19
"The earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the ' sons of God'".
Aside from being peacemakers, who are they and what makes them 'sons of God'?
This term is used to describe Adam (Luke 3:38), those who are born again (Luke 20:36), angels, and Jesus Christ, as those whom He loves, protects, and benefits above others.
They are worshippers of God, those who in character and life resemble Him, are governed by the Spirit of God, and reflect the same calm and joyful trust in God which children do in their parents.
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God",
Romans 8:14.
For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith" Galatians 3 :26.
It is the Holy Spirit in us that speaks through us, as we allow through our obedience. So who can get in on this? As many as are led by the Spirit of God!
