After 15 years of advocacy and empowerment, the Board of Directors of The Cupcake Girls officially announces that the organization will begin a formal dissolution process.

Since 2011, we have been a pioneering force in the "Rights Not Rescue" movement and while we didn't always get it "right" over the years we did our best to listen, learn, and change. What began as an outreach effort in Las Vegas strip clubs evolved into a multi-state advocacy network providing peer support, referrals, and financial assistance to thousands. Throughout our time of service, we worked tirelessly to replace stereotypes with understanding and pivot to ensure the voices of those we served were included in critical conversations.

Key Info:
* Physical Office Closure: Our offices will close permanently on May 8, 2026.
* Participant Continuity: We are working directly with active participants to transition their care to vetted community partners.
* Resource Availability: Our Advocacy and Mentorship programs will officially close on April 30, 2026.
* Record Security: All sensitive client data is being handled securely in accordance with Nevada state law.

This decision was not made lightly. While our mission remains as vital as ever, the landscape of nonprofit sustainability has shifted. A diverse array of local and national pressures have significantly affected the fundraising landscape. While the organization is dissolving, the standard of care we championed and the community we built remain.

We want to thank the donors, volunteers, and partners who made this work possible. You helped us prove that respect and resources can truly change lives. We invite our supporters to continue this mission by championing organizations that will carry this torch forward - and we plan to highlight those over the next month here and on our website. If you feel called to we are still accepting donations to assist in our wind-down costs and to best steward our participants and staff through the days to come.

For more information regarding the dissolution or media inquiries, please contact Ash Miller at [email protected].

What people learn about s*x doesn’t just shape knowledge, it shapes perception.

When s*x education is incomplete, stigmatized, or rooted in fear, people are left to fill in the gaps on their own. That’s where harmful assumptions begin. And those assumptions don’t stay abstract, they show up in how people treat others.

For s*x workers, this often looks like judgment, false narratives, and accusations rooted in misinformation rather than reality. Being constantly misunderstood or reduced to stereotypes can impact mental well-being in ways that aren’t always visible.

Accurate, inclusive s*x education offers something different. It centers consent, autonomy, and lived experience. It creates room for nuance instead of assumptions and understanding instead of harm.

Shifting how we educate doesn’t just change what people know. It changes how people are treated. Everyone deserves to exist without being defined by misinformation.

Po*******hy does not equal s*x trafficking.

Po*******hy is a legal, regulated form of adult labor. S*x trafficking is defined by force, fraud, or coercion, which is not consensual. When these are conflated, real abuse is obscured and accountability is weakened. We know this myth is often rooted in concern for safety, as the p**n industry has its own divisive issues.

Good intentions however don’t excuse harmful narratives, especially when they’re fueled by moral panic instead of evidence.

Activism demands precision. A consent and evidence-based framework clarifies definitions, dismantles stigma, and keeps anti-trafficking work focused on actual exploitation. Conflation harms the very people we want to support.

S*x workers are censored and criminalized, and trafficking survivors lose resources and visibility. We believe in challenging misinformation and amplifying s*x worker voices. Share the facts and demand anti-trafficking efforts grounded in human rights, consent, and evidence, not fear.

Authenticity over algorithms. Always.

Success doesn’t have to be loud, fast, or measured by someone else’s timeline. What matters most is what feels real to you. Quiet, intentional growth is still worth celebrating, and you don’t owe urgency to anyone.

We see you, we support you, and we’re here to remind you that connection matters more than metrics. 💛

Take a moment today to check in with yourself: What growth feels meaningful to you, not what looks good online?

There is no correct way to respond to trauma.

Survivors may freeze, stay silent, delay speaking up, or continue with daily routines, each response is valid and rooted in survival instincts. If you’ve ever questioned your own reaction or felt like you didn’t respond “the right way,” you’re not alone. Trauma doesn’t follow a script, and neither do the people who experience it.

We need to acknowledge that the “perfect victim” narrative is harmful and often prevents people from being believed or supported. Behavior and presentation are not measures of truth.

Standing in solidarity means challenging these myths and creating space for all survivors to be seen and supported. Lets unlearn harmful expectations, believe survivors, expand understanding, and help build a culture where support isn’t conditional.
