German American Mardi Gras Association
We have been celebrating Karnveal for over 35 years as the North American headquarters for German Karneval in Las Vegas, Nevada! Our delicious German food, German beers on tap, Schunkel Walzer, Polonaise and Prosts in our Grand Ballroom, will have you Partying like a German! Once a year, in January, member groups from around the country
descend on Las Vegas for our annual GAMGA Gala. Friday night is a Maskenball type of event with the crowning of the new Prinzenpaar, skits performed by the member groups, music and dancing. Saturday night is more of a Royal ball with all the groups in costume marching in. Prinzengarde, Funkenmariechen, Tanzpaar perform, from GAMGA and from many of the groups. In 1985 five great people had the idea to organize and keep the tradition of Karneval alive in the United States.
•Mr. Hannes Schuster (Ehrenpraesident - GAMGA)
•Mr. Horst Neu
•Mr. Paul Gunnemann
•Mr. Sigi Schuster
•Mr. Willi Lechler
Tradition is there where the people are. Especially if the tradition is such a fun one, as we celebrate this beautiful part of our heritage. Some of the many friends of Karneval grew up in Europe with the so called 5th Season of the year. The name GAMGA has over the past years become a very popular word in the USA, Canada and Europe, not only for friends of Karneval but in most German communities. Karneval has immigrated to this country, just as the many of us did... Many members belong to the GAMGA today and they have adopted the customs of the "Narren und Naerrinen" which form today’s great organization. GAMGA has grown over the years and now has around 27 member Gesellschaft from the US, Canada and Mexico. Websites:
