🤍 It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Denise Hernandez Acosta, of the Alpha Zeta Chapter at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, who has joined the Omega Chapter.
After a courageous 12-month battle with cancer, our sister passed away surrounded by love. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and devotion to family brought comfort and joy to everyone she touched.
Denise was more than just a sister; she was the heartbeat of our circle. She taught us all that love isn’t just a feeling, but an action. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel like the most important person in the room, often using her words to uplift us and remind us of our own strength. She lived without fear of showing her affection, leaving us with a powerful legacy: to never miss a moment to tell those around us how much they are loved. To know Denise was to be truly seen and deeply cared for. She was the ultimate friend—the kind who knew exactly what to say to pull you up when you were down, or to remind you how much of a badass you are. She made the most of every second we spent together, demonstrating her love through unique, thoughtful, and very extra gestures. She was everything to so many of us, and she will be our constant reminder to lead with our hearts, just as she did.
