On April 15th, the Senate held two votes on whether to block arms sales to Israel. 40 out of 47 Senate Democrats voted in favor of these resolutions, however, there were seven Senate Democrats who stood strong against this misguided effort, including Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen. The Jewish Chaplains Council is proud to bring Jewish teens to JCC Maccabi® 2026 at no cost to military families through its Operation Summer Camp program.
Operation Summer Camp ensures that Jewish children in military families—stationed around the world—can experience the joy, connection, and growth that come from premier summer programs and JCC Movement initiatives, including JCC Maccabi.
Who is Eligible?
Teens ages 13–17 who:
Have at least one parent currently on active duty, or
Have a parent discharged from the U.S. Armed Services within the last three years

A signature program of the JCC Association of North America, the JCC Maccabi Games® are more than just a competition—they’re an experience.
From the moment teens march into the Opening Ceremony with their delegations, they know they’re part of something special.

Yesterday, Secure Community Network (SCN) and Jewish Nevada hosted a Tabletop Exercise at Temple Beth Sholom focused on real-world security and safety challenges facing our community.
We're strengthening our local agency's emergency preparedness and response capabilities to keep all of us safe.

Last night, our southern Nevada community came together to commemorate Yom HaShoah. Tomorrow I will head to Reno to commemorate this important day with the northern Nevada community. 

As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, this day is deeply personal. I often think about what they would say if they could see us today—a strong, vibrant Jewish community, living openly and proudly… especially at a time when that doesn’t always feel easy.

Each year we lose more of the survivors who carried these stories firsthand. The responsibility is shifting—it is on us to remember, to tell their stories, and to ensure they are never forgotten.

Because remembrance is not passive. It is a responsibility.

May the memories of those we honored forever be a blessing.
