We were recently notified that Betty (aka Trouble) has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She went through the 3P program back in the first part of 2020, so many of you may remember her. It wasn’t often that we had a Bloodhound donated to the program. She is very much missed by her handler, but she has joined her sister “Baby” and they will always be together. RIP sweet girl and run free🌈🐾

“Dogs just wanna have fun”…A little down time for play. If you are a Veteran or First Responder and would be interested in information on the program, please reach out to us through Messenger. We want to be able to assist you with your next companion animal. New dogs go up to the prison every 8 weeks.

Jax is being trained for his Veteran so he can accompany her to work. He has been taught to go under the desk while he is there with her. He too will be coming home in a few weeks. I know his Veteran is extremely excited!

Hope is in training at Lovelock Correctional Center. She has completed her basic training and her handlers are working with her on specific tasks. If her Veteran should stumble, Hope is able to go for help. They do some amazing work with the dogs. Hope will be heading home to her Veteran in a few short weeks.

We had a very special visitor stop by to see us at adoptions today. Some of you may remember Tiger from about a year or so ago. He is doing amazing. He has gone on to become a full fledged service dog. He’s traveled several places via plane and is extremely attentive to his veteran. He proudly displayed his special certifications. It was wonderful to see him and so happy that he is doing so well!!🐾🇺🇸

Today, we share the passing of Rayna, one of our beloved 3P service dogs, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

As the Founder of 3P, I take some of the losses harder than others. This one hit me hard today. I was close to the Veteran and his family who have had this girl for the past 9 years. It was a long shot when we brought her and her siblings in, but it ended up being the right decision. I share the passing of Rayna with all of you, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. She came into the program as a younger pup, a gentle giant as such and it was always questionable how she would do.

She showed everyone up and ended up being an amazing service animal to her veteran. She changed his life forever. She was the hardest working girl for 9 years, up until the last few months. The veteran was extremely thankful to her handlers as they had done a fantastic job with her. Those handlers have since paroled out.

I know how much Rayna will be missed. Dogs are some of the best parts of our lives. She was very much loved and had an amazing life. RIP sweet girl and know that you were very much loved here on earth.

Run free, sweet Rayna. 🌈🐾🇺🇸

🐾 Foster or Handler Needed for GUNNY 🐾

Gunny is looking for his next chapter — and we’re being intentional about it.

Gunny is a 6-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix and a 3P Program graduate (Pups • Prisoners • Patriots). Due to a placement mismatch, he will be returning to TLB at the end of the month, and we are seeking an experienced foster or a new long-term placement.

About Gunny:
✔️ Affectionate, loyal, and loves to cuddle
✔️ Very treat-motivated and knows basic commands
✔️ Enjoys playtime, running, and soaking up the sun
✔️ Has been okay with dog introductions
⚠️ Best with confident, structured handling and leash management

Gunny is not a problem dog — he simply needs the right environment and a person who understands structure, consistency, and strong-dog management.

We had a special visitor at our adoption event this morning. Some of you may remember Law. He was in one of our early classes. He’s doing great and his veteran is so happy with him. We always love when our alumni stop by for a visit.

We have some sad news to share with our 3P family. Solo, who was in our program back in the Spring of 2019 has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We know that she was very much loved by her mom and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace sweet angel🐾🙏💕
