Break These Chains Live Free Break These Chains Live Free is a Nevada 501(c)(3) non-profit organization promoting awareness of human trafficking.

Break These Chains is dedicated to raising awareness of human trafficking issues, using non-traditional forms of communication including performance art and social media. Our public events use symbolic dance, flash mobs, songs, and symbolism to illustrate the ugly truth about human trafficking – modern day slavery. Our art contest, “Human Trafficking – The Ugly Truth” invites high school youth to

think about and visualize the feelings of trafficked people. Our “Live Free” bracelets attract attention, they’re “ugly and uncomfortable – but so is human trafficking.” They invite conversation on human trafficking. See the impact of our events through the videos and pictures on this page.

Our Story

A nonprofit organization, Break These Chains Live Free, created in 2011 by four Soroptimist International Clubs of Southern Nevada, attacks the problem of human trafficking locally and throughout the world through advocacy and awareness, and is totally volunteer driven with no paid staff. This collective approach maximizes the impact and distribution of our message – people are not products or property. Break These Chains promotes public awareness through events and activities featuring all forms of performance and visual arts to reach various audiences as an alternative to lectures and documentaries.

The Board of Directors is composed of members of Soroptimist International of Greater Las Vegas, Soroptimist International of Las Vegas Valley, Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Las Vegas, Soroptimist International Pahrump Valley. Soroptimist International is an organization devoted to improving the lives of women and girls.
