Creativity can be anything like drawing, writing, music, taking pictures, or just trying something new. You don’t have to be perfect at it. Sometimes it’s just about having fun and expressing yourself.

This fall, start your own self-care ritual! 🍂

For September, our monthly theme is ritual! As we enter the new season, our routines can start to change. When we become intentional with the small things we do, our routines can become rituals!

Making a morning cup of coffee or tea, lighting a scented candle, or taking a walk outside allows us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves. These small moments of care can become meaningful rituals that keep us grounded. This season, take a moment for yourself and create a ritual that feels meaningful to you! 🍁

💠 ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS! 💠

LYF is accepting submissions for the sixth edition of our zine series! Share your own interpretation of the theme of mosaic, or check out our guiding prompts to help you! Whether you create your own mosaic or describe what the word means to you, we are excited to see your work!

💠 REQUIREMENTS 💠
Must be 14 years or older to submit.
All experience and writing levels are welcome.
All submissions must be the original work of the person submitting.
Entries cannot have been previously published on a website, made public on social media, and/or broadcast or featured among the winners of a competition.
All submissions must be written in American English. However, phrases in foreign languages will be accepted if translations are provided either within the work itself or listed in the footnotes.

💠 FORMATTING 💠
Written submissions must be submitted as Word, Google, or PDF documents.
Poetry must be 250 words or less and 10-40 lines in length.
Short stories and creative nonfiction must be 1500 words or less.
Visual submissions must be submitted as .JPEG or .PNG files.
Visual art must include (1) a short description of the work, and (2) must not include copyrighted material.
