🚨 FOUND DOG — PLEASE SHARE! 🚨

This beautiful female Springer Spaniel was found September 26 in Crawford County, Michigan, in “The Ranges” near Maple Forest Township — Range 40, close to Observation Point. She had no tags and no microchip, but we’re certain someone must be missing this sweet girl.

She is safe being cared for at AuSable Valley Animal Shelter. Contact:

Despite what Dixie has been through, She Is The Sweetest Dearest Girl ❤️🐾

Dixie is a beautiful 9-year-old English Springer Spaniel whose owner sadly passed away, leaving this special girl in need of a new forever home.
Dixie is laid-back, gentle, sweet, and incredibly lovable. She’s a true Velcro Springer who simply wants to be close to her person. She gets along well with other dogs, loves going for walks, and is housebroken and up to date on her vaccinations. We do not know how she is with cats, but can't imagine she would have a problem with them.
Dixie is currently being fostered in Arizona.
She has so much love to give and deserves a wonderful family of her own.

UPDATE - Kona has found a wonderful foster. Thanks for all your comments.

**URGENT NEED*** The person who was going to foster Kona got hurt and is no longer able to foster Kona. She needs a foster by October 7th. Can you help - she needs to be an only dog and in a home without small children. Please call me at 720-314-1695 if you are able to foster her. Thanks (Kona is currently in the Seattle area).

Update 9/30/26 Foster found and pup is now with foster.

Looking for a foster for a male 8 month old springer, not neutered.
Located Connell, Washington.
His siblings were taken into a local rescue in July, and a neighbor took this boy, but can no longer keep him.
I don't have any other information, nor any pictures, just trying to get this boy out of a situation he doesn't deserve.

From Joei Gr: I fostered this Springer girl, Ellie, for SSRI in Feb then adopted her in Mar 2026. She's turned out to be the BEST dog ever! She loves camping, is a great hiker, loves people & other dogs, is a great companion no matter where we go, is obedient, comes back when i call her, whaaa? We just got back from camping in the Eastern Sierra in Cali, she was so quiet except if another dog came by. Then she wants to play (hard to do on leash!) Next trip 3 days later we were camping at the beach for a week. She just goes with the flow. She's addicted to food so we have to watch that, but it's better than having a picky dog, she batks & leaps for joy when the food comes out... lol (being put on a fiet, she's lost 15 lbs, now at 45lbs). From how she acts at Dog Beach, I think she's had agility training. I couldn't have asked for a better dog! I love you Ellie and am so glad you're part of our family now. Thank you SSRI for bringing her into our life! ”

BOBBIE IS UP FOR ADOPTION - LOCATED NEAR SEATTLE

Bobbie is 9 years old and is looking for his forever home. Due to some of her own medical issues his mom decided that she was no longer able to provide the care for Bobby that he deserves.

Bobbie has a gentle, caring disposition with people meeting him on his walks. He loves to be petted and almost always lays down for belly rubs . He is excellent with kids and always wants to lick their faces. He has never bitten anyone. He doesn’t have any medical issues, is up to date on all of his vaccinations and is microchipped.

Bobbie’s behavior is very laid-back. He loves to be on the bed or the couch. He loves to be petted. He is a very happy dog who just wants to be around family.

Bobbie does get along with other dogs although he initially barks at them. He can be calmed down quickly by getting him away from them. In the past, however, he lived with a dog for 3 years so he can learn to live with another dog. A slow introduction is recommended. He is however very good with cats.

Fosters where are you????
I notice quite a few people will respond to our pleas for fosters, even say they will foster a specific dog, yet when asked to foster we only hear crickets.
Am I being harsh, I suppose I am, but a rescue can only rescue pups when we have fosters to take them in, get to know them, get vet treatment taken care of (we cover that cost).
We have one lovely girl that will be losing her foster in just a few weeks and a senior male looking for a soft landing. Honestly, these two will probably be long term fosters as each has a unique story and each have their own quirks, but both deserve a chance to find their perfect forever homes.

Please, if you can, open your hearts and homes to fostering a pup in need. If you cannot we understand, maybe you can share the post and a friend will see it.

UPDATE: ***ADOPTION PENDING***

TYLER IS UP FOR ADOPTION - HE IS LOCATED IN VANCOUVER, WA. Tyler is a 5 year old Springer male who is looking for a new home. He is being rehomed due to some family health issues and they are no longer able to give him the attention he needs. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and about 50 pounds. He does good with other dogs but not sure about how he does with cats. He is in a home with retired folks so am not sure how he is with little children. He likes his toys, does good at the vets and has yet to experience swimming.
