The Henderson Animal Shelter often has overcrowding, aging facilities, staff stretched thin, volunteers struggling to keep up, and the animals are paying the price despite Councilwoman Cox and many others best efforts.

Why the stalled renovation and why
is the dedicated money sitting idle, where is it now? Plans are being redrawn again and a new isolation building for sick animals is now slated for Code Enforcement office space.

DO YOU LOVE YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FAMILY MEMBERS AS MUCH AS I LOVE MINE?

I adopted both of my fur-babies from the Henderson Animal Shelter.

The Henderson Animal Shelter in the past, has done a great job with the limited resources available to them.

But today there are problems:

1. Does the Henderson Animal Shelter still qualify for a "NO KILL" status... if not, how often and how many animals are being euthanized?

2. Are the sick and injured animals being provided 24 hour professional veterinarian care 7 days a week... if not, are animals being inhumanely left to suffer for hours, or even for days?

3. Are the millions of dollars that were allocated to renovate the shelter and build new kennels being spent as promised?

4. Why was the management of the shelter moved from being under the Police Department to under 'Community Development and Services'... was it to benefit the animals, or was it about the need the current City Leadership had to balance the City budget?

When I am elected Mayor, one of the first things I will do is move the shelter back under the Police Department, where it belongs, and then be transparent with residents about the answers to these questions.

Henderson animal lovers are voters, in fact you vote at an above average rate… so please vote for your fur-babies by voting for Hollie for Mayor.

Early voting runs from May 23rd to June 5th, and the Primary Election Voting Day is June 9th.

Thank you for your support!
