🧱 Did you know? Many of the beautiful stone structures across our historic campus were built by the hands of Stewart Indian School students themselves.

As part of their vocational training, many students masterfully learned the trade of stone masonry, utilizing local source stones to build a legacy that still stands today. You can even spot this distinct style on historic buildings throughout Carson City and Lake Tahoe!

Our campus tells a complex story of heartbreak turned into a legacy of tribal tenacity and cultural preservation.

Come take our free, self-guided audio walking tour to hear these stories directly from Stewart alumni. We are open Monday–Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Don't forget to visit our friends at the Brewery Arts Center tomorrow night to support the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum during the bucket brigade before Native-led blues rock band Indigenous takes the Levitt Stage!!!

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of equitable mental health care for all communities. People from racial, ethnic, and culturally diverse communities often face greater barriers to accessing mental health services including cost, limited availability of culturally responsive care, and stigma.

Throughout this month, we raise awareness, encourage open conversations about mental health, and reaffirm our commitment to improving mental health outcomes for everyone.
