was founded in October 2010 by, Toshia Shaw, CSW who worked mainly with girls who are under-resourced (lack economic resources, family support, opportunities) and teens of color. These girls develop social, emotional and intellectual tools to help them create a positive life vision, develop success skills, serve as community role models, and access the resources they need to achieve their goals.

Were so proud of our founder and our new Executive Director who is the founder of for merging and becoming one. Non-profit is all about community and togetherness and we’re doing that. Were all under one roof and excited for 2019!

City Watch issued for missing Memphis teen girl
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Police have issued a City Watch for a missing teenage girl in Memphis.
According to MPD, Zairya Hoskins, 17, was reported missing Thursday.
Police said Hoskins was last seen around 5:30 p.m. at her home in the 1800 block of Finley Road.

Hoskins is described as 5-foot-6, 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing tan pants and a black shirt with a Hillcrest logo on it.
Anyone with information is asked to call Memphis Police.

Our Story

Since the year 2010, Purple W.I.N.G.S. (PWs) 501 c(3) has emerged as the go-to organization for at-risk girls in the Las Vegas, Nevada community. PWs is a wholehearted, trauma-informed mentoring organization whose acronym stands for Women Inspiring Noble Girls Successfully. PWs mission is dedicated to empowering the lives of women and girls ages 12-35 through intense mentoring who have experienced emotional trauma, s*xual/domestic violence, to exit the commercial s*xual industry, human trafficking and commercial s*xual exploitation. We have a core belief that by mentoring girls this will transform how they perceive themselves and their place in society.

As of January 2018, PWs has expanded globally to Sierra Leone, Africa. Under the leadership of local Sierra Leonean’s PWs will assist young women and girls from the ages of 12-35 years old. They will help liberate them from child marriage, female ge***al mutilation (FGM), domestic abuse, and s*xual health issues with group and one-on-one mentoring; creating opportunities ranging from providing education, mentorship, and advocacy.
