Body Rocks The Purpose of the BODY ROCKS Program is to promote positive body image and eating disorders awareness in our schools and communities. Objectives:

1.

BODY ROCKS is a peer education group devoted to promoting positive body image and eating disorders awareness. To encourage students and other members of the school and our community to respect themselves and their bodies.
2. To increase public awareness in schools and our community of the prevalence of body image issues and eating disorders by hosting meetings, awareness events and workshops.
3. T

o provide reliable local resources available on school campus and in our community for treatment and recovery from disordered eating or body image.
4. To provide education about the health risks, getting help, and how to have accepting attitudes toward any body size.
5. To provide education of eating disorders and body image and methods of treatment.
6. To foster a sense of self esteem so that participants have the tools and resources needed to raise awareness in their schools or community.

The mystery of why some obese people think that they look good in Lycra has been solved. Usually a distorted body image is discussed in regards to skinny people who think they are fat. However, a new study reveals that this works the other way too, as many obese women see themselves as not overweight.
