Volunteer Opportunity September 29th

Dr. James needs help with a STEM volunteer event.

The event starts at 11:00 am on Sep 29th but there is a quick training session at 10:30 am in the SEB lobby for the volunteers to learn what they will be doing. Please RSVP to Dr. James at [email protected] to let him know to expect you.

The event is an outreach event for 120 6th graders building 2 engineering activities (rubber band car and NASA lander)

Hello All,

It's time for our next meeting..

This meeting will be a Resume Work Shop and we will have Hiring managers form Engineering firms coming in to work with students on adjusting or building their resumes.

Please bring in a copy of your current resume to the event.

The Event will be held on Friday Monday May 2nd at 4:30-6:30 pm The meeting will be in the CBC A 108.

Hello All,

Today Monday February 1st is the first meeting for NSPE. We will be meeting in one of the Library conference rooms. The Meeting will begin at 5:30 pm outside of the library where we will gather then move to the conference room. Christopher Maldonado will be running the meeting. Look for Him outside the Library. The meeting will be short and sweet and consist of an introduction to NSPE for all new members, the responsibilities of all new board members and a collaboration of goals we as a group wish to achieve this spring semester. Also feel free to bring your friends.

There will be another meeting lead by Jacob Pittman on Friday February 5th for those that may be unable to attend the Monday meeting.

As we start to wind down this semester and head toward the break we have Elections for the Board of Directors for NSPE.

The Current Positions you can apply for are

-President
-President Elect
-Vice President
-Secretary
-Treasurer
-Director Of Membership
-Director Of Mentor-ship
-Director Of Public Relations/Social Media
-Director Of Event Coordination

If you are interested in running for a position, please submit a brief summary about why you are running and why you should be selected. You have until 11/23/2015 by 4 pm P.T. to submit you nomination.

On Monday 11/23/2015 at 5:00 pm we will be hosting an election get to know you where you can mingle with your peers and try to gain their votes.

Starting 11/23/2015 after the meeting is when the elections shall open and they will close on 12/06/2015. The results of the election will be announced over the break and the elected officials will be notified of their new responsibilities.

If you have friends that are interested make sure they are aware forward them this email or have them contact us here for more information.

Don't forget that Craig Cisco, PE will be at EGG 101 Class with Dr. Hayes at 10 AM at UNLV TBE. He will talk to engineering students about the Importance of Licensure.
