Rainy days means indoor activities but it does not mean lack of excitement! We know how to have fun here at Nasri Academy. We played a Rock Paper Scissors Relay race, where teams were trying to get to the other team’s side. Trading out jumping in puddles for hopping to cones.

An introduction to circuits using fans is one of the most effective ways to teach practical electronics. It connects abstract electrical concepts to real-world objects that students can see, feel, and manipulate.

Students explore action-reaction connection and easy troubleshooting; students instantly see the results of their work when a fan spins or a lightbulb lights up. If the fan doesn’t spin, students immediately know there is a break in the circuit or a dead battery.

Happy Grandfriends Day! This was an opportunity for students to share their school experience with someone special in their life! The entire school preformed and then their grandfriends got to go to class with them.

Thank you to all of the families that supported our students. We love you Grandfriends 🥰

Art class for gifted learners differs from a standard art class by focusing on advanced cognitive processing, creative risk-taking, and self-directed problem solving rather than basic skill-building or step-by-step craft ex*****on. Lessons move past concrete instructions into abstract, thematic, and complex ideas, encouraging students to connect visual art to history, science, or personal storytelling.

Mrs. Covington’s Art Module does exactly that! Students ages 4-13 learned about Yves Klein, known for developing a deeply saturated ultramarine hue called International Klein Blue (IKB). Students dived into the artist, preserving the intensity of the pigment, and monochromatic painting. They were challenged to paint using one color and full artistic freedom!

What does learning look like at a gifted school?

Take a peek inside our classrooms, where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and students are challenged to think deeper, make connections, and explore their passions.

Spanish, ELA, Art & Music:
Students develop communication, critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression while exploring language, culture, artistic techniques, and music theory.

Math & Science :
Through inquiry, problem-solving, experimentation, and hands-on learning, students explore complex concepts and make meaningful connections.

Coding & Robotics:
Students turn ideas into real-world solutions as they design, build, code, test, and refine their creations.

Physical Education:
Students build coordination, body awareness, and confidence through engaging, appropriately challenging activities.

At our gifted school, learning goes beyond the curriculum, it’s about thinking deeply, creating boldly, and staying curious.

Where Curiosity Becomes Scientific Thinking
At Nasri Academy, we begin cultivating scientific curiosity as early as age two because we know that deep engagement with why and how can become a lifelong intellectual pursuit.

This year, our students have been working with concepts that extend well beyond traditional introductory science for their age groups—developing an early understanding of experimental design, molecular behavior, thermodynamics, energy transfer, and engineering optimization.

Lower School 3 | Ages 7–8

Students investigated why combining 25 mL of water with 25 mL of isopropyl alcohol produces approximately 48 mL rather than the expected 50 mL.

What appears to be a simple measurement exercise introduces students to concepts rooted in physical chemistry and molecular interactions—specifically, why substances at the molecular level do not always combine in the straightforward way their macroscopic measurements suggest.
For students ages 7–8, this represents an unusually sophisticated introduction to thinking about matter at the molecular scale.

Upper School | Ages 10–13

Our students tackled open-ended engineering challenges involving energy transfer, friction, momentum, system efficiency, and mechanical motion, designing machines optimized for both distance and duration.

They also explored buoyancy, thermal expansion, gas behavior, and Charles’s Law through hot-air balloon investigations—connecting principles of physics and thermodynamics to real-world systems.
These are concepts students will encounter with substantially greater mathematical and theoretical depth in later secondary school, high school, and beyond. Introducing the underlying scientific reasoning at ages 7–13 gives our students the opportunity to engage with ideas years ahead of conventional exposure.

At Nasri Academy, we want our students to be the ones who keep asking questions, testing ideas, and wondering what happens next.

That curiosity is where the real learning begins.
