Kathy’s Angels Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to continue the work of founder Katherine M. For years she gave to those in need by donating funds and goods to families and individuals, the Outreach Program of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the Women’s Shelter of Las Vegas, the homeless, the children of St Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City, NV and even the shelter dogs of the Anima
l Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL. Needing to fulfill a desire to give more, Katherine enlisted the help of her family and friends to make the Christmas wishes of the children of St. Jude’s Ranch come true. They went shopping for every item on the children’s wish lists, which included clothing, laptop computers, iPods, iPads, bicycles, etc. The holidays are often abundant with charity, but back-to-school season can be a stressful time for many displaced children. When asked by St Jude’s Ranch to help with school clothing, Katherine, along with family and friends, took the children to a local department store and spent one-on-one time helping each child pick out their school clothes for the year. The children began to refer to Katherine as "Kathy and her Angels", hence the name Kathy’s Angels Foundation. In August of 2015, thirty-two Angels took part in our Back-to-School Shopping event that clothed thirty-seven children. At the end of their shopping spree, the children presented their new clothes in a private fashion show for St. Jude’s staff, Kathy and her Angels. The children of St Jude’s Ranch have been abused physically, emotionally and some s*xually. What Kathy’s Angels give to the children is much more then clothes. They give the children a feeling of being loved and show them that someone cares enough about them to give of their time. Through the simple act of giving a child new clothes, Kathy and her Angels have helped to build confidence and raise self-esteem for these children. When a child goes to school feeling positive about themselves they do better in their studies and social life.
