A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue

A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) who rescue animals, treat, rehabilitate and re-home. Typically, our medical runs about $5,000-$10,000 a month.

A Home 4 Spot is comprised of many volunteers throughout Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and other outlining areas that take in abused, neglected, medical needs and at risk dogs in their homes to start the rehabilitation process to heal our dogs inside out. Our objective is simple in that we treat, socialize and re-home dogs to homes that we closely evaluate making sure that each dog continu

es to thrive in their new home. We currently operate at thrift store located at 4324 N Decatur and Craig where people can donate slightly used which we are able to sell and in return gives us the ability to help more dogs. These last few years have been extremely hard for charities like ourselves and we have really seen the affects. We hate to turn any dog away and would love to save them all, so any amount whether it be $1.00 to $100.00, helps us maintain our goal to help self sustain our costs and eventually grow our rescue to its biggest potential possible. More times than not, we will help a family who simply cannot afford medical treatment on a dog but without donations, we are not able to continue helping those in need. Our rescue provides training, medical care to our dogs, and education to the public. Our training just doesn't involve the dogs, but the humans associated with the dogs. If we can help an owner find a solution to keep their pet and it is in the best interest for the pet to stay with the owner, then we work closely with these individuals and formulate plans to achieve this. Sometimes it is just as simple as the food they eat and sometimes it involves dog trainers to work closely with the dogs to encourage socialization, acceptable behavior in public and the home. Each volunteer that we accept into A Home 4 Spot is given an application to fill out on our website- www.ahome4spot.com and is required to receive periodic home checks as well as each volunteer must agree to transport the animal to the vet care facility as needed and attend at least two adoption events a month. If for some reason this is not able to happen, we have other volunteers that can help with transport and handle the dog during the events. The goal is to provide a safe, warm home with lots of love to reverse the dog’s outlook on life. most weekends we hold events, mostly at Petsmart - 2140 N Rainbow and Lake Mead, but on occasion we are invited to different establishments that support our work and just want to give us extra exposure. None of our foster parents are paid, however we do provide food and the basic care items for our dogs so volunteers have the tools to successfully care for the placed dog in their home. Because we are a non-profit, we rely on fundraising and charity donations to help us with the biggest expense, our medical. We provide all the shots, microchip, and the spay or neuter plus any additional treatment needed. Our typical adoption fees range from $300 upward to $600.00. This really just depends on the dog's medical needs, the age of the dog, the training needed and of course the breed of the dog. When we reference breed of the dog, it is simply because we encourage people to understand that certain dogs are extremely high maintenance and require more than just routine care so an increase in the adoption cost gives us somewhat of a guideline that this family could afford the needs of the dog with less chance of a return or a "dump". Every family considering adopting a dog goes through a complete thorough process. It begins with a search on our site or other related sites such as Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet or maybe they have seen one of our dogs at an event or a blast on social media. They can inquire many ways. One would be via email, another by phone, by filling out an interest applications on our website and lastly they can also attend our events to meet and greet the dog they are drawn too. We have a very thorough application process that includes a rather lengthy questionnaire, a thorough home check and sometimes several visits and/or play dates. We are in absolutely no hurry to ever place any of our dogs, in fact we believe that finding the right fit for all parties concerned might take more than just a meet and greet and home check. Because of this, our return rate is extremely lower than per say establishments such as kill shelters. Our volunteers are trained and given the right tools to help them determine whether or not the home is the perfect match. Even though our efforts are valiant in this process, we still receive from time to time dogs back into the rescue and we are proud to say that we keep the commitment to the families we adopt out too as well as continue our relationship with them forever.

Meet Queen Imogene — the reigning sweetheart of A Home 4 Spot 👑. Don’t let the royal title fool you—while Imogene may carry herself like a queen, her heart is all about love, comfort, and companionship. This charming pug has a big personality wrapped in a cuddly, low-key lifestyle. She adores her humans (of all sizes!) and prefers showing affection through snuggles rather than slobbery kisses. At about 8 years old, Imogene would thrive in a calm, peaceful home where she can truly relax and rule her kingdom. She gets along best with other mellow pugs and isn’t shy about expressing her opinions—after all, every queen has something to say! Despite her sass, she’s well-mannered on leash, rides nicely in the car (especially in her car seat), and is wonderfully independent—she’ll even tuck herself into bed in her crate when she’s ready to call it a night. This regal lady does have some specific health needs to keep her feeling her best. She follows a special urinary care routine that includes a prescribed diet, supplements, and filtered or distilled water. She also receives regular ear cleanings. With the right care, she stays happy, healthy, and ready to enjoy her royal lifestyle. Imogene’s favorite pastimes? Spending time with her people, watching TV like a true couch companion, enjoying short strolls, relaxing in a cool room, and—of course—mealtime (her favorite event of the day!). She may even enjoy a special treat from In-N-Out Burger now and then. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a dash of sass and a whole lot of love, Queen Imogene is ready to claim your heart—and your couch—as her throne 💕 Fill out an app on our website! There is an adoption fee.

Dog of the Day: Meet Holly 💕

Holly is a beautiful Plott Hound mix who found herself at a Nevada shelter while heavily pregnant. We welcomed her into our rescue, and she was able to safely deliver and raise her beautiful babies. Now it’s finally Holly’s time to shine! Holly is a petite girl at about 42 pounds. She is potty trained, kennel trained, and does well with other dogs and cats, although kitties do intimidate her a little at first. Even though Holly has hound in her, she is not vocal — but she can climb like you wouldn’t believe! She is very intelligent, incredibly loving, and basically a 40-pound lap dog. Holly loves giving hugs and kisses and will happily crawl right into your lap for love. Holly is looking for a Foster To Adopt home that can take her to her upcoming spay appointment in June. After everything this sweet girl has been through, she deserves a forever home where she can finally be spoiled the way she deserves. Although Holly loves kids, she would do best in a home with children ages eight and over as she is still working on manners and it’s not very gentle at taking treats, but she’s working on it!! Holly also needs a home with a yard as she is a very active working breed. Please submit an application on our website if you’re interested in meeting Holly. Home checks and adoption fees apply.

Meet Caleb! 🐾 Caleb is a 7-month-old Shepherd mix who already weighs a whopping 45 pounds, so he’s definitely going to be a big boy when fully grown! Caleb can be a little shy at first, but he is incredibly gentle and sweet. He gets along well with kids, cats, and other dogs, and truly has the makings of the best boy. One of the cutest things about him is how gently he takes treats — such a polite boy! He’s currently learning basic commands and is still working on potty training. Because Caleb spent the first few months of his life in a shelter, this is his first real experience living in a home. He’s doing great, but he will need a patient family willing to help him continue building confidence and learn the ropes of being a beloved family dog. Due to his size, Caleb would do best in a home with a yard where he has space to stretch those long legs. Caleb does need another confident, social dog in the home, as he gains a lot of confidence from having a canine companion to learn from. If you’re interested in meeting Caleb, please fill out an adoption interest from on our website. Adoption fee fees and home check applies.

Come Meet Betty at Bogarts until 1pm today! 💕

Betty is a 10-year-old Chihuahua who has clearly been through a lot. While we don’t know her full story, it’s obvious she hasn’t always been treated with the kindness she deserved. She can be nervous at first and may cower or flinch when someone reaches for her, but once she realizes she’s safe, her sweet little personality starts to shine. Betty came to us from the local shelter weighing 14 pounds, but she has been working hard on her diet plan and has already lost 2 pounds! She also had rotten teeth and a lump on her tail, so the rescue made sure she received a much-needed dental and tail surgery. Betty does have mild luxating patellas, so she is best suited for short, easy walks and a lower-key lifestyle. Once she trusts you, she will be your loyal little shadow. She loves sleeping under the covers, curling up on your lap, and giving the gentlest little kisses. Betty is not the type of dog who will instantly be everyone’s best friend. She needs a patient, understanding home that will give her time to build trust at her own pace. We are looking for an adult-only home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and cherished the way she always should have been. She is being fostered with other dogs, a cat, and teenagers, and she does well with all of them. Like many Chihuahuas, Betty also has a sassy side, but it only makes her more endearing. If you think you could be the perfect fit for Betty, please fill out an application on our website. Home check and adoption fee apply.

Meet Dale, a male Cattle Dog mix! While we can’t say for certain who dad is, we suspect there may be some German Shepherd in the mix based on the male dog found roaming the desert with mama before the puppies were born. Born on March 23, Dale is almost ready to begin searching for his Foster-to-Adopt home! He is expected to grow into a very intelligent, active puppy who will need plenty of exercise, training, structure, and mental stimulation as he matures. We are looking for homes with herding breed or working dog experience, as these types of dogs thrive with families who understand their energy levels and training needs. Dale would also love another playful, social dog in the home to help keep him active and confident. A secure yard is required. Any resident dogs must be fixed and fully up-to-date on vaccines with no exceptions. If there are children in the home, they should be over the age of 8. Potential adopters should also be prepared to bring Dale to and from all upcoming vaccine and spay/neuter appointments when age-appropriate as part of the Foster-to-Adopt process. Dale is looking for a committed family ready for all the fun and responsibility that comes with raising a smart working breed puppy. With the right home, he’s going to make an incredible companion. If you’re interested in meeting Dale, please fill out an application on our website. Home check and adoption fee apply.
