A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue

A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) who rescue animals, treat, rehabilitate and re-home. Typically, our medical runs about $5,000-$10,000 a month.

A Home 4 Spot is comprised of many volunteers throughout Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and other outlining areas that take in abused, neglected, medical needs and at risk dogs in their homes to start the rehabilitation process to heal our dogs inside out. Our objective is simple in that we treat, socialize and re-home dogs to homes that we closely evaluate making sure that each dog continu

es to thrive in their new home. We currently operate at thrift store located at 4324 N Decatur and Craig where people can donate slightly used which we are able to sell and in return gives us the ability to help more dogs. These last few years have been extremely hard for charities like ourselves and we have really seen the affects. We hate to turn any dog away and would love to save them all, so any amount whether it be $1.00 to $100.00, helps us maintain our goal to help self sustain our costs and eventually grow our rescue to its biggest potential possible. More times than not, we will help a family who simply cannot afford medical treatment on a dog but without donations, we are not able to continue helping those in need. Our rescue provides training, medical care to our dogs, and education to the public. Our training just doesn't involve the dogs, but the humans associated with the dogs. If we can help an owner find a solution to keep their pet and it is in the best interest for the pet to stay with the owner, then we work closely with these individuals and formulate plans to achieve this. Sometimes it is just as simple as the food they eat and sometimes it involves dog trainers to work closely with the dogs to encourage socialization, acceptable behavior in public and the home. Each volunteer that we accept into A Home 4 Spot is given an application to fill out on our website- www.ahome4spot.com and is required to receive periodic home checks as well as each volunteer must agree to transport the animal to the vet care facility as needed and attend at least two adoption events a month. If for some reason this is not able to happen, we have other volunteers that can help with transport and handle the dog during the events. The goal is to provide a safe, warm home with lots of love to reverse the dog’s outlook on life. most weekends we hold events, mostly at Petsmart - 2140 N Rainbow and Lake Mead, but on occasion we are invited to different establishments that support our work and just want to give us extra exposure. None of our foster parents are paid, however we do provide food and the basic care items for our dogs so volunteers have the tools to successfully care for the placed dog in their home. Because we are a non-profit, we rely on fundraising and charity donations to help us with the biggest expense, our medical. We provide all the shots, microchip, and the spay or neuter plus any additional treatment needed. Our typical adoption fees range from $300 upward to $600.00. This really just depends on the dog's medical needs, the age of the dog, the training needed and of course the breed of the dog. When we reference breed of the dog, it is simply because we encourage people to understand that certain dogs are extremely high maintenance and require more than just routine care so an increase in the adoption cost gives us somewhat of a guideline that this family could afford the needs of the dog with less chance of a return or a "dump". Every family considering adopting a dog goes through a complete thorough process. It begins with a search on our site or other related sites such as Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet or maybe they have seen one of our dogs at an event or a blast on social media. They can inquire many ways. One would be via email, another by phone, by filling out an interest applications on our website and lastly they can also attend our events to meet and greet the dog they are drawn too. We have a very thorough application process that includes a rather lengthy questionnaire, a thorough home check and sometimes several visits and/or play dates. We are in absolutely no hurry to ever place any of our dogs, in fact we believe that finding the right fit for all parties concerned might take more than just a meet and greet and home check. Because of this, our return rate is extremely lower than per say establishments such as kill shelters. Our volunteers are trained and given the right tools to help them determine whether or not the home is the perfect match. Even though our efforts are valiant in this process, we still receive from time to time dogs back into the rescue and we are proud to say that we keep the commitment to the families we adopt out too as well as continue our relationship with them forever.

Meet Joey! 🐾

Joey is a 9-year-old, 9-10 pound little guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This adorable senior is the perfect little sidekick who loves being close to his person. He’ll happily listen while you tell him all about your day… and then might give you a hilarious eye roll just for fun!

Joey enjoys walks, car rides, squeaky toys, and spending time with his favorite humans. He’s a smart, obedient boy who knows his basic manners and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He’s also a great little watchdog and will alert you if someone is near the house.

Joey has lived with cats and has done well with proper introductions. He has not had much exposure to a variety of dogs, but he did meet the neighbor’s Husky. While he was a little unsure at first, he quickly settled in and did well, so we are hopeful he could successfully live with another calm, respectful dog with proper introductions.

His previous caregiver could no longer keep him due to medical circumstances, and now he’s looking for a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years. At around 9 years old, Joey is still playful, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s loyal companion.

If you’re interested in meeting Joey, please fill out an adoption application on our website!

Meet True 🐾🤍

Hi, I’m True! I’m just about to turn 4 months old, and I’m looking for a loving foster or forever home to help me continue growing and learning.

I’m doing great with other dogs, and one of my favorite things is splashing around in kiddie pools! 💦🐶 I will need an active family and a home with a yard. I LOVE to play 🎾

We think I may be a Shepherd/Husky mix, but that’s just our best guess for now. I’m still a puppy, so there’s plenty of my personality to discover!

All I need is a foster willing to give me love, patience, and a safe place to grow. Could that be you? 🥰

True is looking for a foster or foster to adopt! Please fill out an application on our website at ahome4spot.com🏡❤️

Detroit is a 3 month old puppy full of pure love, fun, and puppy charm! We think he’s a Doberman/Shepherd mix, and he’s ready to steal your heart. This happy boy loves to play with dogs of all sizes and enjoys spending time with kids. An active home with a fenced yard and a playful canine companion would be his dream come true! Since he’s still a young puppy learning his manners, he can be a little mouthy during play, so we’re looking for a home with children 12 years or older. Detroit is doing great with potty training, is crate trained, and happily sleeps through the night. He’ll be neutered and receive his next round of vaccinations soon. Detroit is almost ready for a Foster-to-Adopt home! If you’re looking for a sweet, playful puppy to grow with your family, Detroit might be the perfect match. Please fill out an application to meet him!

Meet Jimmy & Jasper 🧡🐾

Jimmy and Jasper are adorable 5-year-old Chihuahua mixes, weighing about 14 pounds each. These sweet boys came all the way from California, where we were able to save them from a shelter on their very last day. ❤️

They are currently in our Pups on Parole program, where they’re learning that people can be trusted and building confidence every day. They’re both gentle, sweet boys who can be a little shy when they’re in a new situation.

When they first arrived at their foster home, we gave them plenty of space and let them settle in at their own pace. No picking them up or forcing interaction—just patience, love and letting them decide when they were ready.

They have a very secure backyard where they love to explore and go potty. When called, they come right back inside, which is such a great sign of the trust they’re building! 🥰

Jimmy & Jasper are good with other dogs and cats and would do best with adults or older, respectful children. They’re looking for a calm, patient family who will continue giving them the time and understanding they need to feel safe.

With a little patience and a lot of love, these boys are becoming happier and braver every day—and we know their forever family is going to be so special. 🧡

🐾 5 years old
🐾 Chihuahua mixes
🐾 About 14 lbs each
🐾 Good with dogs & cats
🐾 A little shy at first
🐾 Best with adults or older teens
🐾 Calm, patient home preferred

If you think Jimmy & Jasper could be your boys, please fill out an application to meet them!

Dog of the Day: Meet Cupid! 💕

Cupid is an adorable 11-year-old Maltese/Shih Tzu mix who is just under 10 pounds and as cute as can be! Don’t let her age fool you — this happy little girl still has plenty of pep in her step. She walks wonderfully on a leash, loves her toys, and most of all, just wants to be by your side. 🥰

Cupid gets along great with both dogs and cats and is potty trained, making her the perfect little companion!

Cupid has lived with a loving family her entire life, but sadly, due to unforeseen medical circumstances, they had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender her. She has been very loved, and now we’re hoping to find her a wonderful forever home where she can continue being spoiled and adored for all of her golden years. 💗

If you’re interested in adopting Cupid, please fill out an application on our website. There is an adoption fee and a home check.

Meet Pogo 💛

Pogo is about 4 months old, 27lbs, and he got his name for the cutest reason — when he gets excited, he does a little hop like a pogo stick!

Our best guess is that he’s a Shepherd/Border Collie mix, and he definitely seems to have the brains to match. Pogo is incredibly smart and has been picking up potty training very quickly. He’s happy, playful, curious, and loves being part of whatever is going on.

For such a young puppy, Pogo is also surprisingly chill. He’s got plenty of puppy playfulness, but he knows how to settle down too. His favorite spot to nap is right next to you.

Pogo loves to give kisses and gets along with every dog and person he meets!

If you’re interested in fostering or adopting this cute pup, please fill out an application on our website and we will get back to you shortly.

Meet Benji! 🐾

Benji is a 1–2-year-old, 18–20 lb mixed-breed boy—possibly part Schnauzer—with a BIG personality packed into a little body.

His special talent? Speaking entirely with his beautiful, bulging eyes. Trust us… you’ll always know exactly what Benji is thinking!

Benji is:
🐶 Very well behaved
🚪 Almost fully potty trained & knows how to use a dog door
🧍‍♂️ Loves standing on his hind legs like a little human
👧🐕 Great with kids AND other dogs
🏡 Always waiting to give you the sweetest welcome home
❤️ A part-time cuddler and full-time companion

Benji loves a good cuddle, but after he gets his snuggles in, he’s perfectly happy just hanging out nearby. He doesn’t need to be on top of you—he just wants to be wherever his humans are.

He’s sweet, funny, easygoing, and has mastered the art of making you fall in love with him using nothing but those eyes.

Benji is ready to find his forever family!

If you are interested in meeting Benji, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website: https://ahome4spot.com/

The foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.
