Water Street Art & Architecture Walk

Step into Henderson's hippest neighborhood for a guided autumn stroll through the murals, buildings, and creative energy that define the Water Street District. This 90-minute walking tour weaves together public art and architectural history, offering a fresh look at a neighborhood that continues to evolve while honoring its roots.

Presented in partnership with the Nevada Preservation Foundation, the Art & Architecture Walk is a chance to see Henderson through a new lens.

One of Nevada Preservation Foundation’s most important preservation and research initiatives is the stewardship of the Hugh E. Taylor Collection. Today, the collection is preserved through NPF’s partnership with the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas.

To help bring this history to life, NPF partnered with NSite Studios and the City of Las Vegas Government Centennial Commission to create interactive 3D tours of several Taylor-designed homes on the former Desert Inn Country Club Estates. One example is the Bliss Family Home, designed in 1958 for Sid Bliss of Bliss Dairy. Although the home no longer exists, visitors can still explore its unique mid-century design through a virtual tour on NPF’s website. Check them out on our website!

Another great “Henderson Speaks” presentation!

The Henderson Historical Society invites you to join us for our next Henderson Speaks Lecture featuring Nevada historian Stanley W. Paher. Learn about the Las Vegas Valley's past with an introduction from former Clark County Museum Administrator, Mark Hall Patton.

Henderson Speaks is a free event and will be held on Wednesday, October 28 at CSN's Henderson campus with doors opening at 6pm. Books written by Stanley W. Paher will be available for purchase. Please see the flyer for more details. We look forward to having you there!

What a treat to see so many new faces and old friends on Saturday’s “Coffee + Cruising” Bike Tour! Fantastic weather, fascinating history, and delicious coffee and pastries from PublicUs. Thanks to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada for keeping the ride safe. Doesn’t get much better!
