NAACP Chapter 1114-b The Mission of NAACP Prison Branch #1114-b is to improve the status of our members while actively contributing to society thru education and fundraising.

We provide a constructive rehabilitative leadership programs that allow offenders to become contributing members of society prior to and following release. Our Leadership program promotes active participation in committees and general branch work. It also offers Character Education courses which focus on our five pillars of Good Character (Respect, Caring, Citizenship, Responsibility, and Fairness

). This Leadership Program strives to improve the education level of its members through courses focused on Reading, Math and Languages. Although our goals are and always will be governed by the founding principles of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People, because this Chapter is comprised solely of incarcerated members are goals are more specifically focused on Education, Society Re-Entry Programs, Prison Reform, Stopping the Cycle of Recidivism. We actively seek to give back to the communities we will be re-entering through organized fundraising events such as our Food, Pastries, and Pastry Drives and Cars for Life. Established in 2002, Cars for Life allows us to contribute through raising the funds necessary to purchase and repair reliable transportation for a deserving family in the community. So far we have provided 4 vehicles to needy families. The implementation of these goals shall be consistent with the efforts of the national organization and conform with the articles of incorporation of the organization. We will furthermore abide by the constitution and all bylaws of the NAACP.
