Kay is the founder and owner of Kay Lau & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in strategic branding, enrollment management, and advancement for independent schools. For more than 30 years, she has partnered with private day and boarding schools to strengthen their institutional identity through brand development, marketing collateral, digital presence, enrollment strategies, and successful fundraising initiatives. Her extensive knowledge of American elementary, middle, and secondary education has earned her a respected reputation, particularly among independent schools throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County communities.
A former trustee of Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, Kay played an instrumental role in the historic merger of Westlake School and Harvard School, creating what is now one of the nation's premier independent schools.
Kay's international perspective further distinguishes her leadership. Having first traveled to China during her college years, she continues to visit the country several times each year. Her longstanding relationships and deep understanding of Chinese culture provide valuable insight into the aspirations and educational needs of families seeking American educational opportunities for their children.
The Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation is honored to welcome Kay to our leadership team. Her experience in education, strategic planning, community engagement, and cross-cultural collaboration will be invaluable as we expand educational opportunities and strengthen the hospitality industry through scholarships, grants, and workforce development initiatives.

The Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation is proud to support The Salvation Army Southern Nevada's Culinary Vocational Training Program. During this semester, 7 students completed the 12-week, 360-hour Professional Cook program at the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas. Students learned comprehensive culinary training covering knife skills, cooking methods, kitchen operations, food production, and plating with extensive applied learning.
The vocational participants prepared an impressive feast for the graduation ceremony attendees. They demonstrated their skills and were recognized for their hard work and achievements, receiving certificates of completion. Over 80% of these graduates have been hired at major Las Vegas hotels and resorts.
These students’ stories are inspirational and true examples of perseverance and of how seeking out help can turn your life around. These individuals overcame homelessness, addiction, and trauma with the help of the Salvation Army’s vocational training program. We wish all of them a bright and productive future, and we look forward to hearing the many success stories of these resilient individuals.

The Timothy S. Y. Lam Foundation is pleased to have supported Brandon Bardales in earning his designation as a Certified Revenue Manager Executive (CRME) from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
Brandon is a results-driven Revenue Manager with a strong focus on pricing strategy, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making across the hospitality and financial sectors. He’s skilled with tools such as Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel to turn complex data into clear insights that improve performance and efficiency.
