The Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation is proud to support The Salvation Army Southern Nevada's Culinary Vocational Training Program. During this semester, 7 students completed the 12-week, 360-hour Professional Cook program at the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas. Students learned comprehensive culinary training covering knife skills, cooking methods, kitchen operations, food production, and plating with extensive applied learning.
The vocational participants prepared an impressive feast for the graduation ceremony attendees. They demonstrated their skills and were recognized for their hard work and achievements, receiving certificates of completion. Over 80% of these graduates have been hired at major Las Vegas hotels and resorts.
These students’ stories are inspirational and true examples of perseverance and of how seeking out help can turn your life around. These individuals overcame homelessness, addiction, and trauma with the help of the Salvation Army’s vocational training program. We wish all of them a bright and productive future, and we look forward to hearing the many success stories of these resilient individuals.

Brandon is a results-driven Revenue Manager with a strong focus on pricing strategy, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making across the hospitality and financial sectors. He’s skilled with tools such as Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel to turn complex data into clear insights that improve performance and efficiency.
