Congratulations to NVBPA board member O. Berry
Officer Omeika Berry, we are proud of you 🙌🏾

After conducting a welfare check on an elderly woman who had recently lost her son and caretaker, Washburn requested a follow-up visit to ensure she was doing okay. During that visit, Berry spent time speaking with the woman about her loss and learned her son had always dreamed of becoming a police officer, but was unable to pursue it because he was deaf.

The woman asked if officers could drive by her son’s funeral with lights and sirens activated as a tribute. Berry helped make that request happen, giving a grieving mother a powerful and memorable way to honor her son.
