A new home for Nevada students! Last week, Nevada Rise Academy celebrated the grand opening of its new permanent campus in North Las Vegas, bringing together students, families, educators, elected officials and community partners for the occasion. The new campus was made possible by the Nevada Facilities Fund and Opportunity 180's Nevada Facility Solutions Federal Credit Enhancement Grant. What can we learn from student success in other states? A recent Chalkbeat report found that Indiana charter school students experienced stronger academic growth than their peers in traditional public schools following the pandemic. Exploring what's working elsewhere can help inform conversations about expanding high-quality educational opportunities here in Nevada. Read more:

Big news for Nevada's educators! The Nevada Department of Education has approved the suspension of 16 outdated or redundant reports, an important first step in reducing administrative burden and returning valuable time to classrooms. This work was informed by an independent analysis conducted by Public Works LLC, made possible through Opportunity 180's support. We’re pumped to see this collaboration helping create a more efficient, student-centered education system.
