rganization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.” Those 31 words embody the spirit of Rotarians everywhere. Rotary International, the world's first service club organization is made of up 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. It's members form a global network of business, professional, and community leaders who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities and the world. The Las Vegas Rotary Club is the Founding Rotary Club in Las Vegas, Nevada and was Chartered April 5, 1923. Our Las Vegas Rotary Club provides books to school kids through Spread The Word Nevada, we provide food to the needy through the Salvation Army, we provide clothing to needy children through our Santa Clothes program, we recognize the service of Nellis Air Force Base airmen through our Wetzel Award program, we recognize our local law enforcement, fire fighters and other public servants through our joint Rotary SOAR Awards, and much, much more. Our mission of "teaching youth to succeed through literacy, education and life skills development" is one that we strive to fulfill each and every day.
