Habesha Student Association at UNLV We are the Habesha Student Association club (HSA), and our purpose is to promote cultural exploration and education at UNLV.

Our aim is to bridge the political divide between the natives of the East African nations of Eritrea and Ethiopia, due to a civil Our aim is to bridge the political divide between the natives of the East African nations of Eritrea and Ethiopia, due to a civil war, while also promoting our rich and diverse culture to non-natives. The word ‘habesha,’ is an inclusive word to describe Ethiopians and E

ritreans alike. We believe that, like Desmond Tutu, a South African Human Rights Activist, said, “differences are not intended to separate, to alienate. We are different precisely in order to realize our need for one another.”
