Nevada Donor Network

Nevada Donor Network One heroic donor can save up to eight lives through the gift of organ donation and heal 75 more through the gift of tissue donation. What can YOU make possible?

Nevada Donor Network is a federally designated 501(c)3 not-for-profit organ procurement organization (OPO) also responsible for facilitating tissue and cornea donation statewide. Founded in 1987, our core purpose is to provide hope strength and life to more than 2 million people in the state of Nevada and thousands of potential transplant recipients across the country. Our primary functions as an

OPO are to coordinate, recover and allocate lifesaving organs and healing tissues for transplantation and research on behalf of our heroic donors. We provide education to hospital staff and community partners on the referral and donation process and provide a strong network of support for the courageous donor families who save lives through the gift of donation. Nevada Donor Network is a member of Donate Life Nevada, a statewide collaboration of agencies committed to motivating Nevada residents to register as organ, eye and tissue donors.

In 2025, more than 24,000 people from multicultural communities received an organ transplant. Did you know? Those communities are two to four times more likely to develop kidney failure than Caucasian Americans. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the most common illnesses that lead to kidney failure which happens to be the most waited for organ. 86% of patients need a kidney transplant, and the average waiting time for a kidney from a heroic donor who passed away is three to five years. Help us end the wait by becoming a hero now: https://hubs.li/Q04tJQN10

This year's Transplant Life Foundation's 2026 Transplant Games of America included much more than competition for Team Nevada. Heroic Donor Husband, Gino, was able to be with his hero's heart and lung transplant recipients while they competed in the games. Raquel gave the ultimate gift which made this moment possible. Ashley, her heart recipient, and Jose, her lung recipient, met for the first time. A touching memory that will last for a lifetime. Grab the tissues and watch their incredible story.

In honor of National Multicultural Donor Awareness Month, we would like to highlight a selfless team member who serves heroic donors’ loved ones by supporting their journey through grief. Meet Nevada Donor Network’s Bereavement Program Consultant, Champagne. She is a community healer, grief support professional and mental health advocate. Having navigated her own mental health challenges since her teenage years, Champagne understands the importance of feeling heard, seen and supported during life's most difficult moments. As a widow and mother of two daughters, she has transformed her personal experience with grief into a purpose-driven mission to help others find healing, hope and resilience. Champagne does this through peer support, sound healing and therapeutic art. She creates meaningful opportunities for connection, recovery and self-discovery. Champagne truly enjoys serving Nevada Donor Network’s mission as a bereavement program consultant for the aftercare program. She helps connect families and individuals with free grief resources, including support programs for adults, caregivers, children and teens. Passionate about both community care and mental health, Champagne encourages others to learn more about organ, eye and tissue donation whenever she has the chance. Champagne truly believes in the profound impact one decision can have on individuals, families and entire communities. Are you inspired by the work Champagne is doing?
