Not everyone lives in Las Vegas or Reno. But everyone deserves a fair shot at surviving cancer.

A new study from the American Cancer Society found that when states expanded Medicaid, more people lived at least five years after a cancer diagnosis—especially those in rural and high-poverty communities.

That hits close to home here in Nevada, where long drives, limited specialists, and fewer resources can make a big difference in someone’s outcome.

The data shows real impact:

-More survivors in rural areas
-Better outcomes for people with lower incomes
-Big wins for Black and white adults under 60

Access to care shouldn’t depend on your zip code. This is why we keep showing up, speaking out, and pushing for progress.

Let’s be real. There’s no such thing as a safe tan.

A “base tan” doesn’t protect your skin,it actually increases your risk for skin cancer. And in Vegas, the sun shows up every day.

What does protect you:

-Daily SPF 30 or higher
-Sun-protective clothing

The budget bill currently being considered in the U.S. Senate would kick nearly 11 million people off their health insurance and raise health care costs for everyone, even those with private insurance. The cost of health care is already far too high, and passing this bill is the last thing senators should do for the people they represent. You can't put a price on people's lives.

With over 300 guests in the room, it felt like a giant reunion. Friends were reconnecting, new connections were being made, and everyone stayed fully engaged all night. The atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and true to our Vegas community.
