Up next, we welcome artist as our first Artist-in-Residence in the new studio. She will be working throughout the month of December and early January, creating work which will then exhibit in the gallery curated space, opening January 13th.

2nd Week, Bonus Day #1 @ program/stay.

Today I felt emotionally exhausted, to be honest. I made myself go in to the studio regardless, knowing no excuse would be slick enough to fool myself into not taking absolute full advantage of this opportunity I have for intense reflection and close proximity to such inspirational working artists.

So, since I felt a mess; I made a mess. Using and I poured off - whites & deep reds to symbolize a “good” intention tainted by the valid stress that has come from this personalized off shoot of I’ve been doing. What was born out of these gestural applications will sit overnight to really sink in and permeate itself for future further examination. Thanks for reading my

CORE Arts Concord Inc (CACI), the arts nonprofit arm of CORE Contemporary, is excited to launch its new Artist in Residence (AIR), inviting local artist Brian Gibson to be its first artist in residence. The nonprofit's AIR program accepts proposal submissions from Las Vegas-based artists year round as a way to support artist development within our community. Following close review of submissions by CACI board members and co-founders, Nancy Good, Sapira Cheuk, and Angelina Saldana, Gibson was selected based upon talent and work ethic shown to date, need for working space, potential for measurable artist development, and how well the artist's proposal fit both the mission of CACI and the physical parameters of the studio space, among other factors. Congratulations, Brian!

Due to rapidly-changing pandemic protocols, we have changed our submission deadline for the artist in residence call to a "rolling" format, i.e. we will accept proposals at any time and schedule residencies as we are allowed to by governmental agencies. Please submit required materials in PDF format to [email protected] Exact date(s) of residency will be determined based upon the needs of the Residency winner and what is allowed by state/city mandate.
