Pre-Physician Assistant Society (PPAS) is a community established in 2019 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

This organization focuses on preparing students for the Physician Assistant profession.

Looking to gain more patient care experience (PCE) hours over winter break? ❄️☃️ This Wednesday at 6pm the PPAS will be hosting a PCE Workshop, where our board members will discuss their patient care experiences, and present different types of patient care jobs! This workshop is useful for anyone looking to expand their PA school application and find PCE jobs!

Please join us as we hold a GRE strategy session with the Princeton Review this Saturday at 11am! 📚

During this webinar, you will learn key study techniques to ace your GRE! A faculty member with the Princeton Review will share practice sample questions of the GRE, and teach students how to critically think about each question.

Happy Wednesday Pre-PAs! ☀️

A quick reminder we will be hosting our third general meeting next Wednesday, November 16th at 6pm. This time the meeting will be held in the student Union, room 219! 🩺

Please stick around after the meeting as we will be hosting an end-of-the-semester ice cream social in celebration of a successful semester! 🍦💙

Also a reminder to make sure you’re covered for this years required community service project! Please begin sending either monetary donations or creating packages for The Shade Tree, as donations will be ending in early December!

Good evening Future PAs, and happy Halloween! 🎃👻🖤

This semester for our community service project, we will be working with the Shade Tree of Las Vegas, by making hygiene kits for local women and children.

The Shade Tree Organization provides safe shelter to homeless and abused women & children in crisis. The Shade Tree also offers help to victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, and human trafficking victims.

Contribution towards the PPAS community service project is a required credit for PPAS Membership! 📝

We will be accepting donations until late November/early December (date is to be determined!). You may either make a physical donation package or a monetary donation!

*1 package or 1 monetary donation of $10 is suffice for your 1 credit requirement towards the community service project! HOWEVER, our goal is to make at least 75 kits to distribute, so please donate however much you can! 💙

Looking to earn some volunteer hours this weekend? Join Pre-Physician Assistant Society this Sunday, October 30th from 7am-11am!

We are volunteering with Making Strides of Las Vegas, celebrating their 30th anniversary with the American Cancer Society! 🎗️

Making Strides Las Vegas is an annual 3-5 mile non competitive walk for Breast Cancer. PPAS volunteers will be aiding with the check-in process, cheering on participants, and setting up the event.

I hope you’re all having a great midsemester, we’re a little over halfway through the semester, keep up the great work!🎃🍂

Just a quick reminder our BeReal Fundraiser will be ending in one week, on November 2nd, 2022. The Pre-Physician Assistant Society partnered up with BeReal, and they are donating $8 to our organization for every true new-user! If you’re new to BeReal and have not yet signed up, now is a great time to enroll!

Please see the guidelines for the fundraiser on the second post, to get you started please add our officers on BeReal!

BeReal is the new photo-sharing app, where once a day you spontaneously share your real life with your friends!

🔈Attention PPAS Members! 🔈

We still have a few slots available for our Walk for Wellness volunteer event this Saturday, October 15th.

The Walk for Wellness is an annual 5K run, in which all proceeds go towards Breast Cancer Awareness and supporting breast cancer survivors 🎗️

Volunteers for this event will be helping with various jobs, such as checking participants in and handing out snacks/drinks.

•Our second general meeting will be held next Wednesday, October 19th at 6pm! It will be in the Student Union, room 209. Please join us to learn more about upcoming service events + updates, and to meet other pre-pa students! 📚

•Membership fees are due next Wednesday during our second general meeting. For all members (new and previous) a fee of $20 is due. Payments may be either via Cash, Venmo, or Zelle. If you wish to use any alternate forms of payment, please email our Treasurer @ [email protected]

Hey future PAs! Join us for our Q&A session this coming Tuesday October 4th, where we will be speaking with Savanna Perry, a dermatology PA! Join us via WebEx where we will discuss tips for submitting your PA school application, and how to ace your PA school interview!

Calling all future health providers! We will be hosting a Stop the Bleed Certification training this Thursday, September 22nd at 6pm inside the Student Union, room 209.🩸

To participate in the training, we will require all participants to pay $5 at the door prior to the start of the training!
