🚨 Court Denies Athletics’ Motion to Intervene in Strong Public Schools Nevada's Legal Challenge to Senate Bill 1 🚨

John Fisher has done everything to ensure Nevadans have to pay for his stadium. He sued teachers to take away the voice of Nevada voters and his lawyers are equally afraid about the constitutionality of Senate Bill 1. They should be.

Nevada’s Constitution is here to protect everyday Nevadans, not out-of-state billionaires. Unfortunately for Fisher, he won’t get to spend more time in a courtroom fighting teachers in this matter.

Like Strong Public Schools Nevada, we believed that Fisher’s intervention would only serve to delay and prejudice the adjudication of the constitutional challenge to SB1. We are pleased the Court agreed with Strong Public Schools Nevada and denied the Athletics’ Motion to Intervene.

This afternoon, Schools Over Stadiums provided comment at the Stadium Authority meeting. While we organize around a 2026 referendum to ensure that Nevadans can decide if they want to pay for a billionaire’s stadium, we still have our constitutional challenge against SB1.

The A’s move to Los Vegas is far from a done deal. A group in Nevada, Schools Over Stadiums, is ramping up efforts to stop the use of public money to build a stadium for the team. Raj Mathai speaks with a member of the group, Alexander Marks, about their efforts.
