Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League SNARL exists to provide a better life for animals in need. There is no such thing as a “bad breed”, only bad humans.

The SNARL Mission:
Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League, exists to provide a better life for adoptable homeless, abandoned, or abused animals. We aim to assist in the effort of limiting the overpopulation of these animals as well as educate the public against breed or size discrimination. How is this handsome boy still waiting for his forever home? 💛

When Bonsai first came to us, the world was a pretty scary place. He wasn’t sure who to trust or what to expect. But with patience, love, and an amazing foster family, this sweet boy has made the most incredible progress.

Bonsai is getting better in new situations every single day. He’s learning that people can be kind, other dogs can be friends, and life can actually be pretty amazing. Watching him gain confidence, enjoy backyard adventures, and show more of his personality has been such a beautiful thing.

This boy loves spending time with other dogs, being around calm and patient people, enjoying treats (he’ll even gently take them from your hand!), and simply being part of the family. Once he trusts you, you’ll see what a loving and loyal companion he truly is.

And seriously… have you seen this face?! Bonsai is absolutely gorgeous, with those soulful eyes and an unforgettable look. 😍

Bonsai is looking for a family who understands that the best relationships are built with time and trust. He doesn’t need someone to rush him. He needs someone willing to let him continue to blossom and show them just how special he is.

🎉 FREEDOM UPDATE: FATBOY IS SAFE AND OUT OF THE SHELTER! 🐾❤️

​We have the BEST news to share—Fatboy is officially SECURED!

​Yesterday, right under the wire at 4:06 PM—less than an hour before the shelter closed—we got the confirmation email we were desperately waiting for! While our original plan was to pick him up tomorrow, we couldn't wait another second to get this sweet boy out of that stressful environment. We picked him up TODAY!

​Fatboy is currently relaxing and settling into a very temporary foster home for the next few nights, soaking up all the love and comfort he deserves. Early next week, he’ll be making the move into his more permanent foster home where he can truly decompress and shine!

​His rescue journey is just getting started! Next in the list is getting him to the vet for a full examination, neuter surgery, f***l testing, and all necessary medical care to set him up for a long, healthy life.

Sometimes life gets messy. Sometimes things happen that are completely out of our control. And sometimes, all we can do is try to make sure the dogs caught in the middle still have a soft place to land. ❤️

Meet Crystal and Charlie. Two sweet dogs who are looking for a new home — and we would really, really love for them to be able to stay together.

Charlie was originally adopted through SNARL. When she first came to us, she was known as Ciabatta. Unfortunately, life has changed for her family, and both Charlie and her sister Crystal are now being returned to SNARL.

We wanted to make sure we could help Crystal, too, and hopefully find these two a home where they can start their next chapter together.

Crystal is the more reserved of the two. She’s gentle, loyal, house trained, non-destructive, and has a natural herding instinct. Charlie is the social butterfly — affectionate, loves people, gives kisses, and is always happy to say hello. Together, they balance each other beautifully.

They are both good with dogs, cats, and children, are spayed, healthy, vaccinated, and microchipped. They also come with their beds, toys, treats, supplies, and kennels — basically, they’re ready to walk into their new home. ❤️

These two have already experienced a lot of change. We’d love to give them the chance to experience their next chapter together.

💗🐾 CASSIDY’S GOT A LOT TO CELEBRATE! 🐾💗

If you’ve been following Cassidy’s journey, you know just how far this sweet girl has come. When she arrived at SNARL, she was overwhelmed by everything around her. Her crate was her comfort zone, and she preferred to quietly take in the world from a place where she felt safe.

Fast forward to today… and what a difference we’re seeing!

Cassidy is coming out of her shell and discovering all the little things that make being a dog so much fun. She’s enjoying time with her canine buddies, exploring more, accepting treats, and—most importantly—learning that she doesn’t have to be afraid.

She’s still a tender-hearted girl who needs someone willing to let her set the pace. Cassidy isn’t going to be your instant best friend who jumps into your lap the second you meet. She’s going to make you earn that trust. But once she does? That connection is going to be something incredibly meaningful. ❤️

We think Cassidy’s perfect person is out there—someone who understands that confidence doesn’t happen overnight and who will celebrate every little milestone along the way.

She’s already shown us how much she can change when someone gives her patience, safety, and love. Now it’s time for Cassidy to find the person who will help her take those next steps and finally experience the forever home she’s been waiting for.

🐾 Meet Scootie!

Scootie has been with SNARL since June 2024, and somehow this smart, sweet girl is STILL waiting for her person to find her.

Scootie can be a little cautious when meeting new people. She’s not the dog who is going to run up and greet everyone she sees, and honestly, she’d probably prefer you didn’t expect her to. 😂 Give her a little time, let her get comfortable, and you’ll get to see the very sweet and affectionate girl underneath that cautious first impression.

She’s smart, food-motivated, and knows commands like sit and leave it, even when there are distractions. She walks nicely on a leash, is dog-door trained, has had zero accidents, and is perfectly content curling up in her crate for a peaceful nap.

Scootie also has a little herder personality and occasionally feels the need to help everyone else stay organized. 😉 She does well with structure, listens to guidance, and is very responsive to her people. She can be selective about her dog friends, so slow and thoughtful introductions are important.

Scootie is looking for a calm adult home without cats or small animals. She doesn't need a busy household or a million people coming and going. What she really wants is a predictable routine, a comfy place to relax, and someone who understands that trust doesn't always happen overnight.

Because once Scootie trusts you? That girl is ALL in. She is loyal, affectionate, and incredibly special.

She has been waiting a long time for her forever home. Maybe the person she's been waiting for is you. ❤️

💔 Returned after just 9 days. Homeless again. 💔

Corduroy came to us as a tiny, 1-week-old puppy back in February 2023. He spent almost TWO YEARS waiting in rescue before being adopted, only to be returned 3 months later.

After spending collectively over 1000+ days back and forth in foster homes to boarding—we thought his suffering had finally come to an end.

We thought last month was the start of his forever. He went home on September 5th, and everything seemed aligned perfectly.

Then, just 9 short days later, the text came:
“He is the sweetest and he deserves the best. He likes me but he just seems so miserable here. He just wants to lay in my bed all day. I dont want to prolong his unhappiness, my love just isnt enough for him I guess.”

Just like that, Corduroy was given up on again. His adopter felt he wasn't happy, not realizing that what he desperately needed was time. Time to decompress. Time to adjust. Time to learn that he was safe.

He’s been given up on so many times, and the absolute last thing he needed was to be returned again after barely a week. Poor guy. Now he is right back where he started—homeless, confused, and locked back inside a mindset where he doesn't believe "happy ever after" exist for him.

When will his time finally come? How much more heartbreak can one dog endure?

Meet Isadora.

Isadora is a three-year-old Tibetan Mastiff who is about as mellow as they come. She’s independent, calm, and perfectly happy spending most of her day lounging on the comfiest dog bed she can find. She isn’t a dog who needs to be attached to her person every minute of the day. She’s content to quietly coexist with you and keep an eye on things from her favorite spot.

Like many guardian breeds, Isadora needs the right environment to feel comfortable. She is looking for a quiet, adults-only home without a lot of noise, activity, or frequent visitors. Children and unpredictable energy are stressful for her, so a calm, mature household is important.

Isadora also has a very strong prey drive and cannot live with cats, small dogs, pocket pets, or livestock. She is not comfortable being crated or tightly confined, so she needs a secure home where she can have appropriate freedom and space.

When it comes to other dogs, Isadora is particular about her friends. She does not enjoy high-energy or bouncy dogs. She could be happy as the only dog in the home, or potentially with one calm companion over 50 pounds who understands and respects her space.

Isadora is looking for someone who understands guardian breeds and is comfortable letting her be who she is. She doesn't need constant attention or entertainment. She needs a quiet home, consistency, space, and someone who understands that earning her trust takes time.

Once she feels comfortable, Isadora is a wonderfully easygoing companion who is perfectly content to spend the day lounging nearby and keeping watch over her home.
