Grace Jones says it's time to get down on your knees.
She released "On Your Knees" as the first and only single from her third album, Muse, in August 1979. Written by D.C. LaRue and J. Corbetta, and produced by Tom Moulton, the record arrived just weeks after the infamous Disco Demolition Night on July 12, 1979, as the disco backlash gathered momentum. As a result, Muse was heavily overlooked and is often considered Grace's "lost album."
47 years ago today!
By the start of the 1980s, a new Grace Jones had emerged. Embracing the new wave sound, she reinvented herself with the iconic Warm Leatherette album and her now-famous androgynous image, released just nine months later in May 1980.

A Sussex County, New Jersey resident called out local officials at a recent council meeting, demanding recognition for the graves of enslaved individuals after a councilwoman was seen posing with her husband, who has a Confederate flag tattoo.

This comes as momentum grows nationwide to honor the labor, history, and final resting places of enslaved Black Americans.
