🤝 Proof that some of the best resources might be right across the room. Thanks to everyone who joined us for last Thursday’s Nonprofit Networking Hour! These gatherings are all about good energy and strengthening the connections that help create a stronger nonprofit community.

A special shoutout to our co-host, United Way of Southern Nevada, our venue partner, Servehzah Bottle Shop and Tap Room, and Mi Barrio for the great food.

Missed this one? Stay tuned for details on our next Nonprofit Networking Hour in August.

🤝 What does it really take to move from curiosity to collaboration? At Pathways to Partnership: Turning Curiosity Into Strategic Collaboration, 33 nonprofit leaders representing 29 organizations came together for a full day of learning, reflection, and honest conversation about what meaningful partnership can look like in practice.

Participants explored the full spectrum of collaboration opportunities available to organizations — from shared programs and strategic alignment to deeper partnership models — while building a stronger understanding of organizational readiness, shared decision-making, and what it takes to create sustainable collaboration for the future. Leaders left with practical frameworks, clearer next steps, and new tools to guide partnership conversations within their own organizations and across the sector. 🧩📈

A huge thank you to La Piana Consulting for leading such a thoughtful and impactful experience and for continuing to support some of our participating organizations as they explore next steps.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Opportunity Village for hosting us at the beautiful Betty’s Village and helping create a welcoming space for connection and collaboration. 💙🏡

Congratulations to our recent Write Once, Win Often Graduates! 🎉 This cohort created space to think, refine, and reconnect to the purpose behind their programs—and that kind of work always shows up later in the strongest ways.

16 organizations showed up, did the work, and developed grant-ready language grounded in real clarity and intention. Everyone walked away with something they can use: not just ideas, but content they can take straight into grants and fundraising! We are proud of you all!

Stronger fundraising starts with strong rooms just like this one✨

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up for Raise & Reach: The Fundraising and Marketing Accelerator, 41 participants & 31 organizations represented, those who leaned in and contributed their insight, energy, and experience throughout this accelerator. Your participation made this more than a training!

A special thank you to the team over at Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy (Allan R. Marshall, M.Ed. CFRM & Vicki Pugh, CFRE, CAP®)) for leading such a practical and engaging experience. Their expertise helped bring clarity, strategy, and overall confidence to the room in a way that will have a lasting impact across our sector. And our incredible partner, Make A Wish Nevada, who happily hosted us for this training.

Together, we’re not just building skills — we’re strengthening the capacity of our nonprofit community and filling a critical need in how organizations fund and sustain their missions. Let's Reach! 💡

💡 Earlier this year, 93 people from 74 nonprofits, 12 funder organizations, and 4 nonprofit partners gathered for an afternoon that was equal parts validation, vocabulary, and vision.

We screened Uncharitable- the documentary inspired by Dan Pallotta's landmark TED talk challenging how we fund nonprofits and followed it with a panel discussion that brought the film's themes home to our community.

The Panel moderated by Assemblywoman Erica Mosca, featured:

💠 Alberto Jasso, Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation

💠 Erin McGarry, Engelstad Foundation

💠 Marcia Blake, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley

What the Room Told Us
Here's the thing about a challenge that isn't new: the people living it show up ready to talk. And that's exactly what happened.

For many nonprofit Executive Directors in the room, the film didn't introduce new ideas - it gave them language and authority for ideas they already held. That distinction matters. This wasn't an event that changed minds. It was one that equipped advocates.

"It was great to hear in the movie them talking about the things we talk about as a nonprofit on a daily basis." — Nonprofit ED

Multiple Executive Directors left, identifying their own boards as the next audience for this message — turning a community conversation into an internal call to action.

Perhaps the most resonant moment came from funders who paused to reflect. As one funder noted, "Just to take a step back and think about how we fund… What is the next conversation and when?"

The question - sincere, open, and forward-looking is exactly what this kind of event is designed to surface. It signals something important: funders aren't just listening, they are willing to interrogate their own assumptions alongside the sector.

Thank you again to those that showed up, leaned in, and contributed to a meaningful dialogue. We look forward to seeing you at a future Nevada GrantLab event.
