Broadcasting Fun Facts:
Nevada's first radio broadcasting station was KDZK, which officially began operations in Reno on July 21, 1922. Founded by Frank and Julius Broili of the Nevada Machinery and Electric Company, it initially broadcast live music and news from the Majestic Theater.
Key facts about early Nevada radio:
First Station (Statewide): KDZK in Reno (1922).
First Station (Las Vegas): KGIX, which operated briefly from 1930 to 1933.
Longest Running (Las Vegas): KENO-AM (1370 kHz), established in 1940, was the first successful station in Southern Nevada.
First FM Station: KNEV in Reno, founded by Jerry Cobb in 1953.

KDZK was known for airing live music due to strong musicians' union regulations at the time.
